1930's Emilie Elizabeth

Hello Everyone,

My friend Barbara, just took the last stitch in the binding on her Emilie Elizabeth 1930's edition.

It is absolutely fabulous!  It was beautifully quilted by Beth Hummel from Quilts on the Vine.  Beth's website is HERE.

What's even more amazing about this quilt is the fact that Barbara made it using very sketchy directions from me.  The pattern wasn't nearly ready when Barbara started making it.  I had the first few pages of the pattern ready and gave it to her along with the center applique sheet.

She asked a few questions, and then before I knew it, she was almost finished.  All of the components are from my Patchwork Math book.  She just asked me for block and component sizes and off she went to her sewing room and finished it on her own!

Barbara, you are an incredible quilter, an amazingly active person, and a caring friend.  The world needs more people like YOU!  Thank you so much for turning my pattern into such a gorgeous work of art.  My grandmother, Emilie Elizabeth, would be so proud.

Soon,
Lynn

P.S. I'm taking patterns down to the shop today, so they will be posted on the website soon.

  1. Ahh! Another side of Emilie Elizabeths personality has come out to play! I wonder...where can one get seed for gingham flowers? Barbara is not only amazing...she also has great taste in friends!
