Hello Everyone,
I'm going to celebrate our nation's birth by giving away my Zinnie's Choice pattern.
Zinnie's Choice is named after our beautiful Golden Retriever, Zinnie. She liked nothing better than running through the mountains and playing in the high country lakes. I was making this quilt when she passed over the rainbow bridge. This was the only one of my quilts that she stepped on, rolled on, then ran off with a block in her mouth. She would wave that red, white, and blue block like a rodeo queen during opening ceremonies.
We now have the holy terror, Mazey. Given the opportunity, she will steal every block I make. Forget the block, she will steal the entire quilt and drag it off to her bed.
Here's Mazey all grown up. She's not as well behaved as her sister Zinnie, but we love her to pieces! One of these days she will grow out of the never ending puppy stage. Year three and we are still waiting for that transformation into adulthood.
Soon,
Lynn
Such a beautiful and fun quilt to remember sweet Zinnie by. These creatures always keep a place in our hearts. We have two goldens warming our home and one is part race horse :-) well, part race horse and part kangaroo. He's very talented in doing what he wants to do and good at getting out of what he doesn't want to do. So much energy that I'm not sure the puppy stage will ever finish. Luke is 5 now and though obedient, is still very much the puppy! I hope you have a wonderful 4th! Thank you for sharing a pattern :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love the opportunity to be gifted this pattern. I do not have any 4th decorations, although not sure why--my Mother's 81st birthday would have been today. Thank you and Happy 4th to you, it's a beautiful hanging. Janine Baker, bakerjn@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your posts and hope you and yours have a great 4th
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the story behind the quilt--made it so special.

ReplyDeleteLove the block and the puppy!
ReplyDeleteWe are now in year 2 of new puppyhood. His name is Max and he is part Hound and part Demon Spawn.
I am soooo sad I'll miss the class :( Hopefully, all will be well with my surgery and I'll make the Zinnie quilt with my won pattern LOL.

ReplyDeleteLove the post Lynn. Your writing is wonderful. Zinnies choice is a great pattern and of course I would love for Mazey to pick me. She must know how I love dogs :} and there is just might be a treat waiting for her.
ReplyDeleteWe are still missing our gentle terror (an Aussie mix who passed in Feb) and about ready to embark on a new adventure in canine servitude. Mazie is gorgeous as can be - do they ever really grow up?!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! I would be thrilled to win.

I think that's a beautiful Fourth of July quilt, and Mazey is a beautiful dog! spchow77@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love quilts that have a story attached to them.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July!
We had a puppy that never seemed to grow up. She was an Airedale and boy did she love to have fun. Like stealing the roast off of the grill when my hubby turned away for just a second! She's been gone for many years now, but we've never been able to replace that sweet happy fun loving friend.
ReplyDeleteLove the story behind the Zinnie quilt! Their different personalitys makes you laugh and love them even more. Have a wonderful 4th & see you soon!

ReplyDeleteHow funny about your dog/puppy ~ well, not really I'm sure at times for you. I only am teasing because we have a Ragdoll cat that is a monster and gets into everything and is always bad, or trying to be. She's about 3 yrs old as well. I sympathize with you. LOL But they're so cute, right?
That is a very nice looking pattern. I would be happy to have that. I bought your Patchwork Math book awhile back so I would have the tools to work on the pattern.

Happy 4th and thank you for a chance at your beautiful pattern, I love to decorate for all holidays. If all goes well by Spring we will have Mazey's cousin for our grandchildren who live with us, ages 5 and 6.
ReplyDeleteMazey, Mazey, Mazey. What are we going to do with you? I guess you like all of Lynn's quilts. You have excellent taste! I like them all too! Happy Birthday, America!

Just love the classic look of an Americana quilt. Enjoyed the story behind the name of your quilt. What would we do without our pets?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your celebration of Independence Day! It's a very kind gesture.

What a happy little quilt. My husband's golden would always search the yard to find a prize to give us whenever we visited his parents.

ReplyDeleteAh Lynn...you made us an offer we just can't refuse!!! Zinnie was a beautiful dog, creator of happy memories, and a connoisseur of fine quilting. Happy 4th to you and your family...especially you, Mazey!!! Zinnie would be proud of you!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern...You create such beautiful quilts!
ReplyDeleteDon't put my name in the drawing, since I already own the pattern :-), but I just wanted to tell you Happy 4th, and since I suspect that Gail is with you, Happy 4th to you too Gail!! It's sure tempting to drive down for the class: I need some Lynn and Gail time!! Hugs, H
ReplyDeleteI love your quilts and always look forward to your posts.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a dog but do have a spoiled rotten cat that thinks anything quilt related should be approved by him first. I am so in love with your patterns. Country Charmer addicted me and now I have two others waiting to be made. I still need to get October Magic, Spoken
ReplyDeleteFor and Patchwork Math. Thanks for the giveaway and hope you enjoyed the 4th!
Such cute puppies! My puppy (standard poodle) is almost 7. A babe compared to my almost 18 year old cat! I always enjoy your posts, and your quilts are gorgeous. Thanks for the giveaway! Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteI remember your post after losing your dear Zinnie and also welcoming your Mazey although I must admit I cannot believe it has been nearly three years. My son and his family have just brought home their new family member Daisy, also a golden who is now probably just two months old. As always I just love your patterns, your color selections and so love your quilting. Thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration. Pam, pltasker@med.umich.edu
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice pattern. Happy 4th! 🎆
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th! How kind of you to give us a chance to win your beautiful pattern! Thank you! Wonderful blog, love your pictures! Sweet puppy, pick me!!! Thank you again, wish I could take your class!! jonanddoan@comcast.net

Your quilt is fantastic! Enjoy your blog, especially here about Mazey. She seems to be quite a character. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteWell, I love the puppy! I am so far behind on all of my projects!!! This is the summer for carpal tunnel surgery on the right hand and a trigger thumb (OUCH) and it is now fixed, but in a spint until end of July. Then I will get to do it all over again (except for the thumb) on the left hand in late August. I will really have to work at catching up starting in October. Have a great week Lynn
ReplyDeleteI always had boxers that helped me with my quilting and I still miss each and every one of them. I'm a big believer in the Rainbow Bridge. Zinnie's choice is lovely-I'd like to give it a try. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteNancy
Hey Mazey, remember me? Your bestest ever British friend?
ReplyDeleteI love you very much. (Is that enough grovelling?). I loved Zinnie very much too. Now let's see if Blogger will let me post this. It's refused all my comments for the past couple of weeks.
My dogs are nine years old, but they still act like a puppy (^^;).
ReplyDeleteFabulous design, great colors, and a great patriotic decoration, Zinnies choice is our choice, choosing Freedom. here in America.
ReplyDeleteAh, what a neat story to go with the beautiful block.
