Happy 4th of July

Hello Everyone,
 
I'm going to celebrate our nation's birth by giving away my Zinnie's Choice pattern.
 

 All of the components in this quilt are taken directly from my Patchwork Math book.


Zinnie's Choice is named after our beautiful Golden Retriever, Zinnie.  She liked nothing better than running through the mountains and playing in the high country lakes.  I was making this quilt when she passed over the rainbow bridge.  This was the only one of my quilts that she stepped on, rolled on, then ran off with a block in her mouth.  She would wave that red, white, and blue block like a rodeo queen during opening ceremonies.


 
We now have the holy terror, Mazey.  Given the opportunity, she will steal every block I make.  Forget the block, she will steal the entire quilt and drag it off to her bed.


Here's Mazey all grown up.  She's not as well behaved as her sister Zinnie, but we love her to pieces!  One of these days she will grow out of the never ending puppy stage.  Year three and we are still waiting for that transformation into adulthood.

 
I will be teaching Zinnie's Choice at In Between Stitches on July 12th. I guarantee we will have a fun day of learning the techniques used in this quilt.

    Such a beautiful and fun quilt to remember sweet Zinnie by. These creatures always keep a place in our hearts. We have two goldens warming our home and one is part race horse :-) well, part race horse and part kangaroo. He's very talented in doing what he wants to do and good at getting out of what he doesn't want to do. So much energy that I'm not sure the puppy stage will ever finish. Luke is 5 now and though obedient, is still very much the puppy! I hope you have a wonderful 4th! Thank you for sharing a pattern :-)

    Love the post Lynn. Your writing is wonderful. Zinnies choice is a great pattern and of course I would love for Mazey to pick me. She must know how I love dogs :} and there is just might be a treat waiting for her.

    We are still missing our gentle terror (an Aussie mix who passed in Feb) and about ready to embark on a new adventure in canine servitude. Mazie is gorgeous as can be - do they ever really grow up?!

    We had a puppy that never seemed to grow up. She was an Airedale and boy did she love to have fun. Like stealing the roast off of the grill when my hubby turned away for just a second! She's been gone for many years now, but we've never been able to replace that sweet happy fun loving friend.

    How funny about your dog/puppy ~ well, not really I'm sure at times for you. I only am teasing because we have a Ragdoll cat that is a monster and gets into everything and is always bad, or trying to be. She's about 3 yrs old as well. I sympathize with you. LOL But they're so cute, right?

    That is a very nice looking pattern. I would be happy to have that. I bought your Patchwork Math book awhile back so I would have the tools to work on the pattern.

    I remember your post after losing your dear Zinnie and also welcoming your Mazey although I must admit I cannot believe it has been nearly three years. My son and his family have just brought home their new family member Daisy, also a golden who is now probably just two months old.     Well, I love the puppy! I am so far behind on all of my projects!!! This is the summer for carpal tunnel surgery on the right hand and a trigger thumb (OUCH) and it is now fixed, but in a spint until end of July. Then I will get to do it all over again (except for the thumb) on the left hand in late August. I will really have to work at catching up starting in October. Have a great week Lynn

    I always had boxers that helped me with my quilting and I still miss each and every one of them. I'm a big believer in the Rainbow Bridge. Zinnie's choice is lovely-I'd like to give it a try. Thanks for the chance to win!
