Moda Block Heads Block #4

Hello Everyone,

So far, I'm managing to keep up with Moda's Block Head 3 program.  This little block was designed by Jan Patek.

I did a little reverse applique in the opening of my birdhouse.  Only hummingbirds can squeeze through this little hole!

Here are all of my completed 8" blocks so far.  I'm using only Betsy Chutchian fabrics in my quilt.  This is a long program, and there will be many opportunities to incorporate a lot of different fabrics.  It really has been fun so far.  I look forward to the challenge posted every Wednesday.

Today, I'm getting back to my regularly scheduled program which is my latest design.  I've decided to call this one Red Sky At Night.   As in the phrase, red sky at night, sailors' delight.  I just picture the stars shimmering through a red sky.

This fabric is from Betsy's newest line called Nancy's Needle.  I have fifteen more blocks to make.....and then there are the borders.  I have an idea which is pretty intense for the borders.  I may have to call in the troops to help!

I hope you have smooth sailing today in your sewing rooms.

Soon,
Lynn

    1. I know the feeling Karen. If my family saw the number of UFO's I have, they would probably think I was stark raving mad! --Lynn

    1. The phrase goes back thousands of years. The word shepards can replace sailors. I never knew that until I looked it up. --Lynn

    2. I am waiting for the Friday block ideas, not sure about the appliqué or the bird pattern. BTW I hear my Dad's voice with the Red Sky sayings. Lovely colors in the blocks.
