Sew'n Wild Oaks Class Was In Session

Hello Everyone,

The days and the weeks fly by so quickly I can't believe I haven't posted the photos from the Tuesday Sew'n Wild Oaks girls.  So here we go!

Gail is making another Butterscotch Basket quilt for me using the Autumn Landscape fabric from Lynette Jensen for RJR.  She is making 80, very precise star blocks.  When RJR sends the rest of the fabric, we'll dig in and start making the basket blocks and finish it up.  She has oodles of blocks finished, so we'll be putting this baby together soon.

Several of the girls are working on Heritage during class.

The classroom is always full, so Lynette came up with a way to stay organized while making her log cabin blocks without taking up an entire table.  Good job!

Irene is going to have her quilt finished soon. Another job well done.

Dianne is making Lil' Orphan Scrappy.  It is going to be beautiful in the fabrics that she's selected.  I can't wait to see this one!

Dianne has all of her blocks cut and she separates them with "tissue-like" sheets.  Another wonderful organizational tip.

Collectively we selected the inner border for Mary's gorgeous wall hanging. The original pattern was made using batiks.  Mary put her spin on the pattern by using reproduction fabrics.  This is going to be another great finish for Mary.

Isabelle is out in the pumpkin patch getting ready for Fall with her adorable little pumpkins for Harvest of Hope.  So cute Isabelle.

Patty is almost finished with her blocks for A Walk in the Park.  This one will go together quickly now Patty.

Pat is spinning a little magic on her October Magic.  It is so much fun to see the fabrics she selected. I LOVE IT!

The dynamic sewing team of Ardeen and Lynn are make two Lil' Orphan Scrappy's.  It is fun to watch the two of them work.  One cuts, the other sews.  They have piles of blocks.

As usual, it's been another busy week for me.  Mr. Joe and I filled orders for a good part of Wednesday.  Normally we stuff patterns during our TV time in the evening......but sometimes it's nice to just sit and do nothing......which doesn't often happen.

Yesterday, we went to the County Fair to watch our granddaughter strut her pig, Kevin Bacon around the showmanship ring.  I'll post about that soon.  He will be auctioned off tomorrow.  I'm still wiping away the tears every time I think about it.  I will never look at a piece of bacon again without thinking of Kevin.

Soon,
Lynn

  4. Difficult to mention all of the quilter's names in your group but here goes,Gail, Lynette and Diane (love your organization process) Isabelle, Patty, Pat Irene, Mary, Ardeen and Lynn (love those fussy cut star centers) All of you are working on some beautiful quilts. And Lynn, in my prior life my step son showed a lot of Kevin Bacon's. He now has children and has kept the "business" going (along with my money back then) and his children are placing and winning $$$. It is difficult to not get attached, but the $$$ are great for future education expenses! Anxious to see how she placed! Nanette - doitrightquilter.wordpress.com
