Hello Everyone,
The decorating continues. Toyland Tree came out of the quilting cupboard, and now graces the wall in our bedroom.
I love putting this quilt on display every year. It is just plain fun to look at. All of the little toys love getting out of their storage area so they can see the world for the next month.
I've heard several people say they aren't going to decorate this year. Well, for me, we need a little Christmas, right this very minute! (You can thank me later for planting the ear worm.) It's how I return to normal by surrounding myself with my favorite things that have been decorating my home, my parents home, and my grandmothers home for decades. I feel that I am paying tribute to them, by hanging, and enjoying the special ornaments.
Morning Lynn, love, love the ornament! It's perfect, along with the quilt. I can picture your cabin all decorated in my head....love it! Enjoy the season and family.
ReplyDeleteThe cabin is all decorated and I'm enjoying the rewards of the decorations and lights. It's good for the soul.
DeleteI’m considering decorating this year as I haven’t done it in a few years. A nice fresh wreath or bough for the lovely pine scent, a few treasured ornaments and a string of lights ought to do it. Thanks for the ear worm!
ReplyDeleteYou will be glad you did, Sandy.
DeleteVery well said and I totally agree, Lynn! As you know, I have those special ornaments, too, including one that Mom painted. I so enjoy my decorations and now I have them at the cabin, too, thanks to you. I love looking at these special ornaments, many that I bought over the last 50 years. It really puts me in the Christmas spirit and I think we all need that this year! And enjoying Mom's and Grandma's Christmas ornaments is a great way to honor these wonderful ladies!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of wonderful shared memories.
DeleteSpread that ear worm wide, I say! Bringing out our decorations early this year truly was a tonic, Lynn! I even told Mr. Squash he could start his caroling around the house in July this year! Now talk about an ear worm, but it's been fun! I had no idea your mom was such a wonderful artist! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI could listen to Christmas music all year long. I guess that makes me an oddity.
DeleteIt hasn't snowed a single flurry but Santa, dear, we're in a hurry!!!! But I AM good without the fruitcake...
ReplyDeleteOur outside lights are up and the tree will soon follow. Your posts have inspired!!!!
I'm good without fruitcake too!
DeleteYou call them Ear Worms; I call them Tune Cooties! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove those Tune Cooties!
DeleteSo true! I’m decorating earlier than usual for that very reason.
ReplyDeleteIt feels so good to have the cabin decorated early this year. Merry Christmas Judy.
DeleteOn Saturday, I trimmed my tree, put out the Christmas quilts and Wysocki Christmas/Winter prints. Then on Sunday finished up with the other decorations. Outside lights and wreaths are up. Yes, we need a little Christmas right this very minute.
ReplyDeleteWell done YOU! Doesn't it make you happy?
DeleteWell stated and so very true. 2020 was not a good year. The favored and well-loved Christmas decorations I have were a blessing. I held each one as memories flowed.
ReplyDeleteI definitely needed a bit of Christmas this year.
Oh Donna, I know what you mean about the memories flowing. I love surrounding myself with my treasures. It brings those who have passed just that much closer.
DeleteI totally agree with you, Linn. I love bringing out the Christmas stuff because I get to feel ALL the love again.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful, Susie!
