Sew'n Wild Oaks Class Was in Session

Hello Everyone,

 

Today's quilt show is brought to you by "My Girls".  Again, they have been very, VERY busy during the month.

 

Machine quilter Lora, brought in Gail's gorgeous Country Charmer just in time to have it on display for Christmas.  The picture just doesn't capture Gail's perfect points.  But it does capture her selection of fabrics for each block.  She doesn't shy away from selecting her fabrics, in fact she loves to put fabrics together, and you can tell.

 

I see lots of binding in Gail's future as Lora also finished machine quilting Gail's table runners.

Does the Lil' Orphan Scrappy block look familiar?

A couple of the girls are working on their Lucy Boston blocks.  Lynette is making table runners for every season and Holiday.

 Kathy is working on the top section of Harvest of Hope.  The batik leaves just top this off!

Barbara G. started the day like this......

.....and ended it with a quilt flimsy just needing borders.  Barbara still chats away with everyone, yet continued to sew row after row together.  She's a former multi-tasking elementary school teacher!

We were also seeing lots of Lil' Orphan Scrappy stars across the sky....I mean design wall.  Jeanne was working on her quilt.

So is Patti.

Judy is working on her Grammy Squares quilt.  Love the center.

 

Marianne is treating us with her Tonga Treats quilt.  The addition of the sashing adds a great accent.

Fall is in the air with Isabelle's Autumn leaves on her Harvest of Hope quilt.

Speaking of Isabelle......both she and her husband just passed their citizenship test.  In honor of this significant event, I presented her with an Americana pillow.  This country is a better place with these two upstanding citizens.  Well done and congratulations!

Annie's Star Quilt Show

Good Morning Sunshines!

 

I'm up here in Chico at the Annie's Star Quilt Show.  The featured artist is Donna Greenwald. 

 



Her incredible quilts will draw you to her booth, and not let you go.

 

 The use of color is beyond belief and very dramatic.

 

My friend Jo, made this quilt along with one of her friends.  What you can't see is that is has a ribbon hanging on the left-hand side!  You can check out Jo's blog HERE.

This Kim McLean quilt was a show stopper!

My friend Brandie put her very creative stamp on my Party in the Garden design.  This quilt is hanging directly opposite from my booth so we get to enjoy it all day long.  I LOVE what Brandie did with the border.

My favorite part of having a booth at a quilt show is talking with the quilters.  I loved meeting so many of you who spent quite a bit of time in my booth.  You inspire me with your kind words and appreciation of my work.  Sharon and Katie you are delightful!  Thank you so much for commenting on the blog yesterday. I hope to see you at your Orland guild soon.

Gail and I are headed out for a much needed cup of coffee then we, (Thelma and Louise) are off to the races.....I mean the quilt show!

A Blank Canvas

Hello Everyone,

 

At 12:30 Friday, Gail and I started with a blank canvas at the fairgrounds in Chico, CA.

 

By 4:30 this is what our booth looked like for the Annie's Star Quilt Show.  I'm going to enjoy the good lighting.  I like the way the vendor booths are distributed throughout the u-shaped building between the quilt displays. 

 

I tried to keep Christmas together.

This is the first time I've had a 20' booth and it is a little overwhelming trying to figure out how to fill it.  I use my quilts and props from my home, and I bring product from In Between Stitches.

 

 

 

After we finished setting up, we had dinner at 5:00....motel 6:00......curled up in bed with a book by 8:30.  Big day today as the guild expects 600 attendees.  I hope they all come to my booth....but not at the same time!
