Pieceful Gathering Mini Quilt Show

Hello Everyone,

I'm finally getting around to posting the pictures of the Show & Tell session at the Pieceful Gathering retreat.  The quilts were amazing! So welcome to the Pieceful Gathering Show & Tell mini-quilt show.  This first table topper is made in wool.  So beautiful and whimsical!

My friend Deborah brought three quilts which she made from my designs.  The first quilt is from my pattern called Zinnie's Choice which she made with Ann's Arbor fabric by Minick and Simpson.  Deborah is from Ann Arbor.

Deborah also made my Crossing the Pond quilt.  She made the quilt her own by placing additional ships around the center star.  I just love the fabrics Deborah used in her borders which gives it such an antique look and feel.  This quilt is stunning.

Deborah also made my Leaf Peepers design with Kim Diehl fabrics.

The show & tell was incredible.  You can see the advanced skill level of this group of quilters.

This amazing piece is made with wool.  Pieceful Gathering has a wonderful selection of wool, and a nice selection of kits.  Several kits and a lot of wool and thread followed me back to California!

Here's another wool project.

I love the Santa hiding in the trees.

Mother / Daughter creations.  How much fun it would be to sit and quilt with my mom....sigh.

Here are some pictures of more inspirational quilts.

Corky is making my Country Courthouse design.  He is well on his way to a finished quilt.

Cindy, a part-time employee at the shop is making my Country Charmer design.  The red, white and blue theme is going to be wonderful!

It was such a fun group of quilters!  Gail and I enjoyed each and every one of you.

I've actually been working in my sewing room over the past few days and will have something to show you very soon.  I've been preparing kits and I'm working on tutorials for my upcoming Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat at the end of April.  I'm looking forward to being surrounded by quilters!

Lynn

Pieceful Gathering Facebook Live

 Hello Everyone,

Those of you on Facebook, please tune into Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shops Facebook Live tomorrow 3/24 at 10:30CST.  They will be featuring some of my quilt which I sent to them for my trunk show at the retreat.

They will also feature some beautiful blue and white quilts, kits, and fabric bundles.  I always tune in every other Thursday to see (and buy) their special offers and check out their deals.

The girls are just as nice in person as they are online.  Start following Pieceful Gathering on FB so you don't miss a good shopping opportunity!

Well, I spent the entire day grumbling and complaining while I worked on the taxes so I can turn them over to the accountant this week.  I always thought I was organized......until today.   My record keeping wasn't as good as I thought it was.  I hit the wine bottle a bit early tonight!  I guess I was complaining a bit too much since Mr. Joe decided he and Mazey needed to leave the house and go to the dump two days in a row.  I will try to temper my ill-temper tomorrow.  There is nothing creative about working on taxes.  All I want to do is quilt.............sigh.

Lynn

Pieceful Gathering Retreat

 Hello Everyone,

It's hard to believe that I've been back home for almost six days from the Pieceful Gathering Retreat in Illinois, and I haven't posted yet!  In my defense, when I'm gone for six days, I come home to days and days of paperwork and many things needing immediate attention for my business.  In a nutshell, Gail and I had an absolutely incredible time at the retreat!

This is the pattern that I taught, my Country Sampler design.

Every morning, we met with our friends in the dining room which overlooked the frozen lake.  Our friends came from Michigan, Tennessee, and Nevada.  Quilters flew in from all around the country to attend the retreat.

The room at the retreat was huge and the lighting was wonderful.

The retreat started with a buffet dinner on Friday night.

Dinner was followed by my trunk show and talk. The group laughed in all of the right places and not one quilter fell asleep! Prior to the retreat, I sent several boxes of quilts.  It always makes me a little nervous mailing so many quilts, but they all made it safe and sound.

Bright and early Saturday morning, I started teaching Country Sampler and Patchwork Math.

It was great seeing other fabric lines working up beautifully in the pattern.

By the end of the retreat, the ribbon border started to appear in the classroom around the blocks.

We enjoyed spending time with our friend Deborah, who drove over from Michigan.

Katie, and Carrie are just as much fun in person as they are on Facebook Live.  If you are on Facebook, follow Pieceful Gathering quilt shop HERE.  They have FB live every other Thursday, and you can tune in this Thursday, the 24th.  Here in the West, I tune in at 8:30am.

Of course, we had time for some shenanigans.  Carrie and I were entertaining the group during Fat Quarter Bingo.

My next post will showcase the quilts during the show and tell on Saturday night.  The show and tell was VERY impressive!

We had snow, and we experienced 7-degree temperatures, with a wind chill making it even colder.  For the most part, we just stayed inside of the hotel at Crystal Lake, and we were warm and toasty.

Katie and Carrie invited us back again for the retreat next year and we will be there in a heartbeat.  It is so much fun spending quality time with quilters.  We made some new friends, and we are looking forward to the Pieceful Gathering retreat next year!

Thank you, Katie and Carrie, for making our visit so special.  Many thanks to the quilters who welcomed us.  What fun we had!

Lynn

Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop

 Hello Everyone,

I'm here just outside of Chicago in Fox River Grove at the Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop.  This is a must-see destination quilt shop.

Here I am with Carrie and Katie, two familiar faces from the FaceBook live every other Thursday which they have been filming in front of my quilt.

The items you see on the "live" show are even more impressive in person.  Quite a bit of wool is coming home in my suitcase!  I've admired wool applique for years.  After seeing all of the projects, the creative juices started flowing.

There is something delightful to see in every nook and cranny of the shop.

We also went to another shop which I will showcase on my next post.

Carrie has been our companion and picked Gail and me up at the airport Wednesday night.  She drove us all around yesterday and we had a delicious brunch with Carrie and Katie.

Several of our friends arrived from Nevada, Michigan and Tennessee last night.  We are getting together for breakfast this morning.  After breakfast, we will help Carrie and Katie get set up for the retreat.  The fun begins with the quilters setting up at 3pm, then a dinner tonight, followed by my trunk show.

I'll try to post throughout the retreat.

It's time for breakfast, so Gail and I are off to meet our friends.

Soon,
Lynn
