The blue basket is back in the mix. It told me to change the frame and it would play well with the rest of the blocks. It transformed itself into this block. Just a hint of blue in the border which ties it all together.
It used to look like this. Way too much pink for the quilt.
Now it plays well with others. I was attaching buttons and yo-yo's last night to the blocks until the snow started and the power went out.
Just a light dusting of snow is on the trees this morning. The best part of the snow is that it hides all of the pine needles on the ground! If I can't see it, I don't have to rake it. I'll gladly trade my rake in for the snow shovel....well then again.....ask me that in January.
I'm going to enjoy the view inside our snow globe today while working on sashing, buttons, and corner baskets.
Have a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend everyone.
As always,
Lynn
I do like the lighter background much better. It's looking great!
ReplyDeleteAll looks good, the blocks, and the snow, what a sew piecefull day you will have.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
I usually just peek over your shoulder ooohing and aaaaahing. :-) I'm very smitten with Buttonwood - it's delightful. I need to make this quilt; I love it.
ReplyDeleteI've been secretly working on the same 'night job' quilt for a very good friend. I'm just hoping she'll love it.
The quilt block is just perfect now ! Just love this quilt ! Have fun sewing today
ReplyDeleteOh boy, do I like this! Must go through my stash and see what will work and set it aside for when you release the pattern.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you kept the blue block, Lynn! The changes are just perfect! I'm also a little envious of your dusting of snow! Sounds like you'll have a coay, warm weekend - maybe even a roaring fire to sit by!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Another gorgeous top! Ugh..I want to be stitching now, too, but have to finish organizing first!
ReplyDeleteThe changes make so much difference to the block. This is going to be another pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteDon't want to talk about snow yet though!
Lovely, Lynn. Since I like subdued colors, I like the first version too but each is lovely. What fabrics are you using? I want to come play in your fabric stash.
