My guest blogger status is about to expire but before it does I wanted to give you one more update:
- Baskets - Done
- Square in a square - Done
- Double flying geese - Done
- Parallel geese - Done
- Setting triangles cut - Done
And now for the answer to the big question, what was my reward for yesterdays efforts? The boss took me out for a wonderful lunch! I was a little skeptical at first, though. As we drove to the restaurant, the first thing I saw was the sign for the tattoo parlor next door. For a brief moment, I had visions of returning home with a tattoo that said, Stitchin' B*!*!*!!
Again, thank you all for your encouraging comments over the last several days! Now it's time to head home. I have new fabric waiting for me for my Winterset quilt. It has been a fun 3 days working with my sister and my best friend! Hope the "Sister Act" will do a repeat performance soon to finish the remake of Emilie Elizabeth, a tribute to our grandmother, in this beautiful Judie's Album Quilt fabric line by Marcus Fabrics!
Soon,
Gail and Lynn
P.S. My sister ate the other half of the cookie!
Sisters, Sisters...its so appropriate that the two of you are remaking Emilie Elizabeth together. A class act you are...except for that cookie incident...
ReplyDeleteThere was a tattoo parlor in Louisville that advertised on huge billboards..."Tattoos While You Wait"...I always wondered what the alternative was...drop off an arm and return for it later?
Nothing better than a full court press to whip up a quilt with someone else. It looks like you had tons of fun and you've got tons done, but I still think that you need to rethink that tattoo thing...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marie. Yes, we did have lots of fun but I don't know about the tattoo!
DeleteThanks, Nancie! Yes, I am sure the "cookie incident" will come back to haunt Lynn in the coming years! I'll store it in my memory bank for future use.
ReplyDeleteI just knew that Lynne was the person responsible for the missing half-biccie! Next time you're eating a meal together, I think you should eat half of her meal in retaliation. You could also pull a face, stick you tongue out and say "ner, ner, nee, ner ner" if you like cos that's the sort of thing sisters do.
ReplyDeleteYou know her too well, Sue! I'll remember your tips for next time!
DeleteThis was all so very funny especially Nancie's comment about the tattoo parlor.....the quilt is going to turn out beautiful......
ReplyDeleteYes, Lynn and I were giggling about Nancie's comments this morning. Glad you like the quilt, Teri!
DeleteFirst of all you mean to say the Boss is so stingy that you have to share a cookie? Next time you do this, just let me know and I'll send enough homemade cookies that you won't have to eat anything else while you work ;>) Hope those geese coming roosting back home - perphaps they were checking out the wine bottle while you were eating your half cookies - giggle. All in all it looks like a very productive three days you two!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Homemade cookies and I could have more than a half? I just may have to hold you to that promise, Candace, but I think you should deliver the cookies in person!
DeleteAnother wonderful post! Hope we get some more sister sharing in the future. You sure work, and play, well together! The quilt is stunning in these fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lesley! Yes, I hope we can do more together, too. We do have a good time and even though we are "working", it's still fun!
DeleteThe fabrics are awesome and Your quilt is taking shape. Hope we will get to see the finished quilt. Love it. I laughed at your tattoo comment thanks for that too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy! I'm sure Lynn will keep posting updates as it takes shape and through the final reveal.
