Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire

 Hello Everyone,

I'm very busy getting ready for the Mountain Heirloom Quilt Show in Angels Camp, CA.  The 3-day show begins on October 18th and ends on the 20th.

I'm printing patterns and cutting reproduction fabric bundles for my booth.  There was a time when I did TEN shows a year.  That ship has sailed, and this will be my second show of the year.  Next year I will only do one show.

This show is a bit different for me.  I will be doing two, 30-minute lectures a day at 11am and 2pm.  The first lecture is called Finessing the Figures and will be at 11am.  I will be teaching you the math behind some of the most common quilting components so you can make them any size you want for blocks, sashings, and borders.

The second lecture will be at 2pm and I will talk about the process of designing fabric for Marcus Fabrics.

The show will have vendors, a boutique, food and you can view a lot of quilts.

Tickets will also be available for our scholarship quilt made by Diane Mitchell.

The funds raised from the scholarship quilt go to graduating seniors to continue their education.

It will be 3 days of fun and a feast for the eyes!  Please come to the show and stop by for a hug.

Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire Part Two

Hello Everyone,

 

Here are just a couple of pictures from the Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire from last weekend.  We were so lucky the power was turned on just prior to the show.  This quilt is called Almost Amish, and it was made by my friend Janice.  It is gorgeous!

 

 

The show is held in the music room at Ironstone Winery.  The setting is incredible.  I was called back to my booth while I was strolling through the show, and I have very few pictures of the actual show for you.  Trust me, it was fabulous.

 

This is my Grammy Square quilt, and my friend Lynnette made a matching bikini for me.  We entered the bikini in the wearable art competition.  It was hysterical!  Am I ever going to wear this bikini you ask?  Not on your life!! 

My Heritage pattern was our scholarship quilt.  I heard a woman local to Arnold was the winner of this beauty.

The grounds around Ironstone were ablaze in color.

This show is always a destination quilt show.

Now that the show is a wrap, I have to turn all of my attention to my last retreat of the year which begins on October 28th.  Today I'm going to unpack everything from the show, and repack for the retreat.  Is it too early to take a nap at 7am?

Heritage Trifecta

Hello Everyone,

 

I was very excited this week when I was contacted by Hancock's of Paducah.  They wanted to purchase Heritage patterns.

 

Hancock's will be kitting my pattern using Cassandra fabric by Robert Kaufman.  I LOVE IT!  I will let you know when the kits become available on their website.

The Cassandra version is so different than the original.

 

Here is the version made by The Independence Hall Quilters, my guild in Arnold.  Let me know if you are interested in purchasing tickets for Heritage.  It will be raffled off at the Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire Oct. 13, 2019.  Our quilt show is a destination quilt show.  You can wander around the beautiful grounds at Ironstone Winery.  Do a little wine tasting, view quilts, wearable art, and visit the vendors. Come see me!  I will be manning my booth and demonstrating throughout the entire 3-day show.

 



 

Here's an update on my sister Gail.  She has to go back to the surgeon on July 29th.  The margins weren't clear from the last surgery.  This procedure will not be as invasive as the last time.  The next step is a visit to the radiation oncologist.  Keep channeling those good, positive thoughts her way.
