Hello Everyone,
The quilts are still finding their way back to me. I feel like my children are returning home from college.....all at the same time. Party in the Garden and Madrigal have been in Gardnerville, NV at The Quilt House for a few months.
These quilts are seasoned travelers and quilt show attendees. I have gone to visit them at nearby shows.
Yesterday was a busy day at the shop. (Don't tell the boss lady, that I went to work to catch up on some sleep.) Boy, was I wrong! I cut several yards of flannel off a bolt for a customer, and I was so tempted to lay my head down on the cutting table and wrap myself up in the flannel. But I didn't.
Melissa (boss lady not bossy lady) and I put a "store" together that I will take with me to the Georgetown quilt show. A store of all my favorite quilting goodies and gadgets. Melissa packed the newest layer cakes and charm packs for me to bring to the show. Just the bins themselves are chock full of eye candy.
I'm off to the shop again today for my Sew'n Wild Oaks class. This group will keep me on my toes and not let me rest for a second! They are so sharp, witty, and I don't want to miss a minute of their quilting conversations.
Soon,
Lynn
P.S. Here's a shout out to Linda P. It was great seeing you yesterday. I look forward to having you in the Nostalgic Pillow class.

Gorgeous! I know you are happy to have them back! I've had a few "travelers" too. I totally forgot about one of them and it was a surprise when I got it back. Your work is beautiful!

It has been fun to get everything back and under one roof. This is a "first" for all of the quilts. --Lynn
DeleteJust gorgeous quilts! I don't know how you can send them on long visits.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking a "leap of faith" when I send my quilts out across the country. Once they are out of my hands, I just have to trust their new caretakers. So far, so good. I am going to look into getting a rider on my home owner's insurance policy to cover the quilts. I probably should have done this ages ago. --Lynn
DeleteWonderful quilts...I wish they could find their way to my house....LOL!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn :)
Since you moved, the quilts don't know your new address.....so I guess they can't find their way to your home. Good try Carolyn. Hope all is going well in your new surroundings. Good luck with the unpacking.
DeleteI hope you get some rest before the show, Lynn! I have a feeling your booth will be buzzing like a beehive!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
I can rest up next week....after the show. My plan is to head to the mountains, go hiking, read a book, then get ready for the next show!
DeleteYay Lynn...you can have a welcome home party
ReplyDeleteI would worry the whole time they are away..
Love the two quilts on your post.

I do worry about the quilts Julia. The quilts that have come home are in excellent shape. No wear and tear and so clean. They've had good step moms! --Lynn
