Sew'n Some Wild Oaks with Marcus

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday, I got "the call" from Pati, the director of marketing for Marcus Fabrics!  The following fabrics are on their way to my door for me to use in my designs! I'm on Cloud 9 and I'm just going to stay right there for quite some time!

The first fabric line headed to California from New York is called Judie's Album Quilt by Judie Rothermel.  This is so me!  I can just see my little Grammy Squares in this line.

The second grouping is called A Prairie Gathering by Pam Buda.  This group is so me too!  I can see my Heartfire pattern made from this collection. Do I see a new Christmas pattern in my future?

The third fabric collection headed my way is called Olde Townhouse by Paula Barnes.  You know me, I have big plans for that red check!

My head is spinning!  I get to fondle use the fabrics, design new quilts, and pictures of my designs will travel around the country to quilt shops with the Marcus sales reps.  Now my designs will be available when the fabrics arrive in quilt shops around the country.  We can make kits 'til the cows come home down at In Between Stitches.

There are so many people I want to thank who helped me along my quilting journey.  First of all, I want to thank Melissa Grech and Leslie Emery for hiring me at In Between Stitches six years ago.  Without their support, trust, and encouragement, I would not be writing this post, and would not be where I am today.

I want to thank my whole family for putting up with me during my "crunch" times before shows, during shows and after shows.....pretty much most of the time!  They too, have been so encouraging and have supported me every step of the way.

Now to YOU, my blog readers, class attendees, customers, and friends.  Your support throughout the years has kept me going.  Watching you re-create my designs has been a source of constant pleasure.  I'm overwhelmed with gratitude.

You know what they say, "it takes a village".  You are my village.  You are raising me, and I won't let you down.

Soon,
Lynn

  23. this is going to be so much fun for you: Congrats!!! Can't wait to see what new things you come up with for those lines! :-) And I just had to let you know that I made my start on my first "Components" block: the BOM from in Between Stitiches, and to be truthful, I wasn't too happy with the thought of a 9" block, but I decided to go with that size so I could also do the lovely log cabin alternate squares that you showed, and after making 3 of the four components, I have to say that this is a great way to go!!! I love how clear your instructions are and it sure seemed like building them went very quickly! Now I am feeling much better about the 9" blocks: I think they will go together quickly! :-) And could you let me know what size the strips are for the alternate blocks? I was thinking about cutting them as I go along since there is so much left over of the fabric that we are supplied with. Thanks so much!! Hugs, H in Healdsburg
