Hello Everyone,
I took a blogging break for over a week. During that time, I got a lot done. Not only did I focus on quilting, I also did some things around the house that needed my attention.
First up is my cute pumpkin.
Cute pumpkins times four in a table topper. I will probably add a border and fill the open space with a quilted wreath. This will be another Sweet Sapling pattern. A Sweet Sapling pattern is small and very doable. I'm going to include the machine quilting design in this pattern.
I was asked to design a pattern which is more "Springlike".....so this is what I came up with. The little baskets finish at 6".
I need to put a flower or two in the baskets. One step at a time. The flange fabric is just perfect since it draws from the colors in the basket fabric.
I'm not a pastel type person. Having said that, I absolutely love the Di Ford fabrics that I'm using. This will also become a Sweet Sapling pattern.
I also finished the last blocks for the Scholarship quilt for my guild. Next week I'll get the borders attached.
I hit the road today and I'll be gone for the next week teaching around California. First stop is Friends Around the Block in Colusa. I'll be teaching Country Sunshine. I worked on my tutorial and decided this block would look great in Christmas fabrics. When I make my "step-outs" for teaching, I make a lot of them to show every step of the block. I have enough step-outs made to make four more blocks. I see a table runner for winter in my future.
I'm also teaching Grammy Squares at Friends Around the Block.
Next Monday and Tuesday, I'll be teaching at In Between Stitches in Livermore. I get to see all of "my girls" for two whole days!
Last weekend I went on a quilt retreat! This is the first time I've been to a retreat where I wasn't the hostess. I got a lot done in those two days! Here is a very small sampling of some of the gorgeous work in the room.
My friend Carol let me stay in her guest house during the retreat. Boy, did I get spoiled!! This room was my own personal heaven. I felt like a queen.
So, you can see it's been a busy time for me. When I was cleaning out the garage and storing my "show" things away until February, I found 9 more Cute as a Button kits. I posted them on my Etsy site. You can find them by clicking HERE. Keep in mind, I won't be able to ship anything until the end of next week. The last batch of kits sold out in four days.
I will try to post about my travels over the week.....maybe.
Soon,
Lynn
