Hello Everyone,
This is my "free" month where I can work on whatever I want to work on. This wonderful grouping of Nancy's Needle fabrics by Betsy Chutchian, has been calling my name.....quite loudly at times.
These are the two blocks that I'll be combining in the quilt.
This is just a sample of what is on my design wall, and what the quilt layout is going to look like. I absolutely love the "chain" effect in this quilt.
All of the centers will contain a paisley.
This is just part of the Nancy's Needle line of fabrics. It is just so me, right up my alley right into my wheelhouse.
Well, my team didn't win the Super Bowl yesterday. It was a good game, and I congratulate the Kansas City Chiefs for their great comeback. We had some friends over, along with my sister Gail. We grazed our way through the appetizer table during the game. Toward the last 6 minutes, no one left their chair for any food......but we did make a trip to the wine bar! Purely for medicinal purposes.
Soon,
Lynn
Morning Lynn, another great quilt in the works. Now to name it....I love the "chain" effect. Gotta have "chain" in the name. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteChain Gang......NOT. I'll think of something to name it.
DeleteI always love seeing your fabric combos and yes, I'm a huge fan of chains. Sorry your team lost but we're HUGE KC fans and soooo excited! Goodness we played horribly till the end. I knitted my way through the game--great way to deal with nerves. Already purchased our t-shirts and can't wait for them to get here!
ReplyDeleteNeither team was exactly stellar in their performance. Even when we were ahead 20-10, I didn't feel at all safe. KC is just so good. Wear your shirts in good health! --Lynn
DeleteHi Lynn, it’s so easy to see why this line of fabrics has been calling your name for awhile now. It was Country Charm by Holly Taylor that I ordered a bout two weeks ago using the link from this blog...you had posted a sale. I have a quilt pattern calling my name for a few years now. I pulled fabrics for it around an unusual reproduction gold that I have wanted to use since I bought it. I almost always buy fabric, almost never precuts. Guess that’s because I started quilting wayyyy before precuts.
ReplyDeleteBut, the Next quilt that is calling my name is your Country Charmer. Not only do I love it but it the has a ribbon border which I have been wanting to add to a quilt for a long time. (Too many young adults to sew for now and I took a side road down a modern quilt path for awhile).
Over the years I have trained myself to work on one quilt from start to finish since I discovered that it makes me feel better. So I’ll be getting around to Country Charmer this year sometime. Need to plan it around a few new baby, one college graduation, a new home quilt (their first) and my one that I have been waiting to make for us. Gosh, I love so many of your patterns. You are very talented and have been taken in at the blog where the blogger is making one of your patterns in Christmas colors. Hands down, your patterns are the best I have ever seen. Sorry the bloggers name has slipped me but saw your detailed pattern there. Back in the 60’s, quilt pattern pieces were labeled alphabetically so it was very easy to match the cutting instructions with the fabric/shape that needed cutting. Now, everything is labeled by color. Definitely Not as easy to determine which fabric needs to be cut for which pattern piece. Thanks so much for using an improved method for us customers.
Thank you for commenting. The name of the person who is working on Country Charmer is Karen, who is making it in two different colorways.
DeleteMy quilt with the ribbon border is called Country Sampler. That is a good sampler quilt to make.
You are very disciplined to work on only one project at a time. I admire that!
Take care,
Lynn
Love the quilt, love the new Betsy fabric! Gorgeous! How about Stars in My Eyes? Have to admit I laughed at Chain Gang!! Keep on sewing!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it Susie! Stars in My Eyes is much better than chain gang.

On a separate note, we here in the St. Louis area were thrilled with the KC win. Mom, hubby, & I enjoyed appetizers followed by hamburgers on the grill as our temps approached 70 degrees .... in February! Snow later this week will bring us back to reality.
ReplyDeleteKC is a great team, and they deserved the win. We've had the most unusual winter so far.....hardly any snow compared to last year. --Lynn
DeleteLove wear this is headed for sure! I can't wait to get my hands on this line. I have every Betsy line but this one. Yum!! Have a wonderful month of stitching!
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy! I love Betsy's fabrics. Nancy's Needle will be available in shops in March. Keep your eyes out for it! --Lynn
