Sew'n Wild Oaks Class is in Session

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday the girls were Sew'n their Wild Oaks in the classroom at In Between Stitches.  Lots of pictures and not too much detail from me today.  I have things to do and places to go in preparation for the quilt show on Saturday

For starters, here are Gail's, Nostalgic Christmas blocks.  They are so beautiful together!

Kathy sewed all of her Party In The Garden blocks together during class.  She was on a mission to finish this part of the construction.  All I can say is WOW, it is fabulous.

Border auditions.

Evelynne is working on pinwheels for Winter's Warmth.  She's almost finished.

Ann took the Chelsea Cottage class from me a year or so ago and here is her quilt that is almost finished.  She worked on her borders yesterday.

Isabelle is working on Winterset

She finished preparing almost all of her applique pieces for the center design using her Blueberry Crumb Cake fabric by Blackbird Designs.

Barbara finished another block for her Minglewood quilt.

If the class had been an hour longer, she would have finished two blocks to add to her design wall.

Kay is working on her fence for Party in the Garden.  Look how she painstakingly cut her fence posts.  She is like me when it comes to attention to detail.  All the little details count......big time!  She gets extra points for her fence posts!

Cindy worked on her little hexies for Winter's Warmth

Love the checked center and love all of her little flowers.

Carol brought in her Antique Sampler to work on.  So delicate and pretty.

File this under the good idea section of your brain.  Kathy showed us this little dowel that holds her thread and bobbin together with little rubber thingies. (The name of the little black thingies escapes me right now).  But this is a great idea.  I have some Tinker Toys that I'm going to use.

Louise is working on Heartfire.  We are all in love her fabric!

This is coming along nicely.

We had a new member in our group, Sullivan.  He's a 2-year-old Glen of Imaal Terrier.  Such a sweetheart and such a good boy.  He spent the day in his carrier just as quiet and sweet as he could be.  Louise has done a great job on his training and he showed us some of his tricks.

That's all of the tricks I have in my bag this morning.  I'm off to start my long day of quilt show readiness.  Printing, stuffing, errands and list making is going to consume my time today.  Mr. Joe doesn't know it yet, but I've made out a list of things for him too!

Soon,

Lynn

    1. Hey, hey Paula, I'm supposed to tell you that we all had a miserable day...wink. I was mean and cranky and the girls just didn't get along at all! (Wink, wink) We all missed you and I hope we will see you soon. Take care. --Lynn

  6. I don't usually make holiday quilts but your Toyland Tree is on my to-do list! Wish I had somewhere to take fun classes like this. Our little area here doesn't offer too much without going in to the big city. :(
