What's Next From Sew'n Wild Oaks?

Hello Everyone,

Quilters have been asking me, "What's next?"  Here's a little tidbit.

The freezer paper is still behind all of the pieces that are just laying on the drawing.  I forgot to trace the stem of the pumpkin, so it's stemless for now.  This is going to be my ongoing project this summer.  I will eat, sleep and breath images and shades of Autumn.

This is still very much in the early drawing stages.  While I go about my day, raking, and putzing in the yard, I'm thinking about this quilt.  I just had to drop everything, (including the rake) and put my vision into fabric.

When Mr. Joe checked on my progress he said, "It looks like you."  I took that to mean I've developed my style, and not turned into a pumpkin!

I've started using the Jenkins, freezer paper sheets for my applique.  I double them, sometimes triple them when I know I'm going to be making the same shape multiple times.  These sheets are larger, 12" x 15"  and a bit heavier which I really like.

I'm off to begin my day and weekend.  I hope you are all planning something fun!

Soon,
Lynn

  2. What a lovely beginning, perhaps you need to add that rake you dropped alongside a mound of fall leaves?

  4. Beautiful! Can't wait to see it! I've been using freezer paper for applique too! I've been stapling 4-5 sheets together and cutting them out all at once. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Oh, you know you're capturing my heart here, Lynn! Hopefully Mr. Joe didn't mean you looked like the pumpkin, but just to be sure, he could rake a few extra piles of pine needles, right?
    Cheers!
