Harvest of Hope Class is in Session

Hello Everyone,

I should name this post "Pumpkins Galore."  The classroom at In Between Stitches was full of pumpkins and gorgeous fabrics yesterday.

It was also full of kits that I put together for my Harvest of Hope pattern.

Some of the girls brought in their own scrumptious fabrics in all shades of fall colors.

This collection is perfect for the quilt.

There are a lot of pumpkins in this quilt.....from all shades of white, to purple to orange.  Yes, purple pumpkins....why not?

A lot of "prep" work took place too.  There's no getting around the time consuming "prep" work for hand applique.  All of the girls are using the starch method of applique and many sat and traced little pieces yesterday afternoon.  It's just like paying paper dolls.

There are going to be some spectacular quilts coming out of this class.  I'm expecting great things from the group.

I'm off to work at the shop this morning.  We will be very busy getting ready for Pacific International Quilt Festival which starts this Thursday.  In Between Stitches will have a beautiful booth....guaranteed!  Leslie and Melissa will work their magic, and create a booth so cozy you will want to live in it.  I'm going to be at the show with my friend Yvonne, and my sister Gail on Friday.  This is a must see show that I look forward to every year.  The quilts are over the top gorgeous and the vendor area will be a huge temptation on my pocketbook!  So I'd better get ready for work so I can make more money to spend at the show!

Soon,
Lynn

  2. I agree with the first commenter...the fabrics you put together are beautiful. The pumpkins really pop. I googled the quilt show...it is huge! You must have a gigantic quilting community in your part of the world! The schedule looks fantastic. Wish you much success at the show!
