Hello Everyone,
Yesterday I planted some flowers on my little Dresden basket.
I had been thinking about placing a 3-dimensional flower in the basket which is fun, but not practical for a quilt.
This is what it looked like in the basket. I also think I would have to make additional flowers to fill in the space. I decided to go with a fuller, flatter bouquet.
I love sitting down to work on an applique project. It is so satisfying and the words peaceful and serene come to mind.
Have a peaceful weekend.
Soon,
Lynn
Just watched the Quilt Show Smilebox of your appearance on the show! You look great and I can't wait to see the real show! How exciting! Now I can say I know someone famous!
ReplyDeleteI was not 'into' Dresdens but I just put this on my bucket list! Thank you so much for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I love the Dresden basket. And, I was thinking (sometimes dangerous! lol), the basket with the raised flower would make the beginning of a great tote bag.
ReplyDeleteThose ap-LEEK-ay flowers turned out just as I imagined them when you first mentioned doing them....all Party In The Gardeny!!! I'm supposed to be working on finishing my Valentines quilt today, and here you go tempting me to pull out a little UFO boz that contains...pastel dresden baskets!
ReplyDeleteAwe that is just the cutest block. Love how it turned out.
ReplyDeleteThough the same basket design, this one looks different than the brown basket you showed previously. I like the fabric you used in the main part of the basket.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing you on the Quilt Show
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern for the baskets?
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern for the dresden basket yet
