Aurora Blocks in Batik

Hello Everyone,

I've been on the road for eleven days from Petaluma, to Concord, to Livermore, to Pleasant Hill, and now I'm home to roost.  Do you hear me saying, there's no place like home?

During my travels, I received a wonderful assortment of batiks from Marcus Fabrics, and put them to work in a different version of the quilt for the cruise to Alaska.  The Aurora blocks are finished.  Now I'm moving on to the Glacier Bay blocks.

My goal was to make the blocks look like the Northern Lights.....or the Aurora Borealis. The fabrics truly captured the correct colors.

This wonderful assortment includes Primo Batiks by Sarah J Maxwell in several different lines.  Jewel, Must Haves, Tranquility, Sea, and Red Sky.

The bundles looked too pretty to take off the ribbons.  But off they came so they could work their way into my quilt.

It was so cozy in my quilting room yesterday.  We had snow showers on and off for the entire day.  I guess Old Man Winter isn't finished with us yet, and gave us a nice dusting.  Not too much, just a sprinkling of powdered sugar all day long.  I was happy as a clam.  On that note, how do you know when a clam is happy?  This clam was happily rolling around in Marcus Fabrics!

Soon,
Lynn
