Backtracking to Last Monday

Hello Everyone,

It's been a wild and busy week here under the pines and oaks at Sew'n Wild Oaks.  It started off with a Patchwork Math class for my own guild, the Independence Hall Quilters in Arnold on Monday.

The class learned the formulas to make components any size.  Then they start putting them together.

Here's the start of a table topper.

This is the fun part.  Take the components and twist and turn them into an interesting design.

The classroom is large and very bright.

I've been on a fabric buying spree for my next show and retreat.  More kits need to be made....many more kits for Cute as a Button.

I'll do another post to show you some of my favorite places to shop for reproduction fabrics.  I've been fondling all of the new purchases this morning.  I'll be cutting it up making bundles, kits and fat quarter towers for the next week!

I've also been designing a new, little foundation pieced house or two for the next Sweet Sapling pattern.  There's also been accounting to do, orders to ship, house to clean, dog and husband to take care of and spend time with.  With all that has been going on, I have to take time to go outside and enjoy Fall. The leaves are changing, the air is crisper, and we've had rain, glorious, soaking rain.  We have also had thunderstorms roll right over the top of the cabin.  We also had our first fire of the season in the wood-burning stove.  In a word....COZY.

Next week I'm off to Pine Grove for a lecture and workshop.  Then it's back to preparing for the Independence Hall Quilt Show, and my next retreat.  I may not be spending much quality time with my dog and husband until November!

Soon,
Lynn

  2. I just love those beautiful fabrics you selected! There is no shop near me that stocks Civil War prints and I love them so much. I will be anxious to find out where you shop and if it is online.
