Everyday is a Celebration

Hello Everyone,

Everyday is a celebration of living, giving, sharing, and just being alive. Mr. Joe had a significant birthday this week.  (At our age, every birthday is significant!)  It was a day for celebration.  What better way to spend it than a day in nature at Yosemite National Park.

Yosemite in the fall is beyond amazing.

We drove up to Glacier Point and enjoyed a brief time out of the wind.  Mazey enjoyed the park with her forever parents.

This shot is Christmas card worthy.  We took so many pictures for other tourists, and they took photos for us.  We heard languages we couldn't identify......but we could still communicate with each other.

Our lunch spot was at Inspiration Point.  Not too shabby!  We stayed in the car to keep out of the wind.  We didn't want our paper plate to go sailing off into the valley.

We also saw an endangered species!

We normally have lunch at Cathedral, at the base of El Capitan by the Merced River.  All of the tables have been removed for the winter, as this area usually floods.

I love reflection photos.  I had to wait for the waters to become still, and was rewarded with this image.

We stayed long enough to watch the sun set on El Capitan.

Another Christmas card worthy photo.  Mazey thoroughly enjoyed herself.  We always take her to the park with us.  Many, MANY tourists ask to take a picture of her, pet her, and love her.  She eats up all of the attention and was on her best behavior.

To me, this is one of the great cathedrals in the world.  I love this little chapel, and the way it makes me feel closer to a higher spirit.  It gives me a calming sense in these troubling times.

Yosemite is only a two-hour drive from our cabin, so we drive over a couple of times a year.  Each season is different and special.  This visit ranks up there as one of the best!

We have certainly gotten good use from our Geezer Pass.  It was the best $20 we've ever spent.  The pass gets us into any National Park.....for life.

Soon,
Lynn

  1. Beautiful photos, and what a spectacular setting! We bought one of those Geezer Passes a couple years ago when we were traveling to the west coast, no national parks near us sadly. Hope to go back one day.

  10. So glad you were able to have a birthday celebration in Yosemite. My sister was married in the little chapel and lived in a cute CCC built staff house near the base of Yosemite Fall for 10 years. Love, love, love the Park (and the geezer pass)😁
