Hello Everyone,
Yesterday I started machine quilting Peek-a-Boo Pumpkins. I really do love this ribbon border!
I braved the elements, put on my hand warmers, and headed up to the garage to my long arm. It was a chilly 45 degrees in the garage when I started quilting, and a balmy 51 when I stopped quilting.
Once the pumpkins are done, I'll start quilting Buttons and Bows. This one could take a bit longer, so I'll have to keep coming down to the cabin to thaw out.
My commitment to Henry Glass & Co. as a Brand Ambassador, is that I will make three small projects or one large project during the month of January. I haven't started project #3 yet. I do know what I'm going to do, and it's going to be small! Very, very small.
Soon,
Lynn
Three projects in January!!! Surely they could stretch that out a bit for you so that you aren't totally tapped out by the end of it. Regardless, your projects look terrific.
ReplyDeleteHi Marie,
DeleteI want to keep consistent with my style during this process. You know me, I don't do simple! Maybe when I receive my next shipment in March, I will do just one project, and see how that goes.
Take care,
Lynn
The quilting in the ribbon border makes it look sooo three dimensional. Gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing how the quilting goes with the basket weave quilt as I am sure I’m the only one with strings hanging around. (And need to use up)
ReplyDeleteI was reading a FaceBook page that asked what do you do with 1" strips? One response was, throw them out! A 1" strip to me is totally useable, and I save them all, and incorporate them into more quilts.

Beautiful quilting as always Lynn! I hear ya on the freezing in the quilt studio. For many years I had a space heater. Lol. Hats and scarves were my uniform.
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear from you Linda! I take this as high praise from someone at your caliber of quilting! You go above and beyond gorgeous. I was just looking at your all over feather tutorial. I may give it a try. Today I shall wear a hat and channel my Linda, The Quilted Pineapple feathers!

Lynn
Yikes! Three projects in the month of January! Lets hope March is warmer for you. You are a dedicated worker out there with your machine in the cold! And the quilting really looks lovely with that beautiful ribbon border. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Loris. The good news is I'm the one that gets to decide what to make out of the fabrics that arrive.
ReplyDeleteWe can still have a lot of snow in March.....who knows what this year will bring??
Take care,
Lynn
Beautiful! Loving your Peek-a-Boo Pumpkins and the ribbon border is stunning. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you again. I think I need to send a pattern to your shop. That is after I get finished writing it! --Lynn
DeleteLove your quilts, and HEY, LOOK at those HAND WARMERS! Great!
ReplyDeleteThose hand warmers saved me, and got me through several hours of quilting. They are so comfy. I have a matching scarf too!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Lynn
I too love that ribbon border! One of these days I really want to get one on a quilt. The knitter in me loves the handwarmers! (they're fun to make)
ReplyDeleteThe border is really is to make Cheree. The handwarmers were a life saver while I was machine quilting in the deep freeze!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Lynn
I meant easy to make.
