Nostalgic Christmas Class is in Session

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday, I taught the Nostalgic Christmas class at In Between Stitches.  What fun it is for me to see my design come alive so beautifully in a classroom filled with eager quilters.

It is also fun to share my love of plaid and see others hop on the plaid bandwagon.

The directions to make the double flying geese are located under the Virtual Classroom tab. The complete pattern for the quilt and pillow is available HERE.

The Sentiments panel by 3 Sisters for Moda, was the main centerpieces for most of the blocks. Some of the girls are making quilts, and some are making pillows.

Linda is creating a loving tribute to her husband who passed away.  She printed a picture on Printed Treasures paper on an inkjet printer to personalize her pillow.  She will be using fabric from some of her husband's shirts to create the outer borders and double flying geese.  She is also going to include a pocket from his Levis which will be sewn to the back of the pillow.  Linda plans on making pillows for her children, showcasing pictures of them with their Dad.   What a special gift.

Tip of the day:  Barbara cuts off the top of Costco Kleenex boxes to store her fabric for class.  It is easy to carry, and holds lots of fabric she can see right at her fingertips.  Great idea!

I cut some fat-eighth bundles which are still available at the shop to make the pillows.  I searched the shop for every plaid, check and stripe for one bundle.  The other bundle of prints, compliments the Sentiments panel beautifully.

Today I get to quilt!  What a novel idea.  Enjoy your day everyone.  I'm going to tuck myself away in my sewing room until dinnertime!

Soon,

Lynn
