Butterscotch Baskets

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday my goal was to get sets of four baskets sewn together with their little dot of red in the middle.  Twelve down, four more to go.  I have machine quilting plans around the little red dot.  Let's see if I can pull it off to make it look like a button in an old mattress.  Remember those?

I started with a pile of blocks and whittled it down to almost nothing.  I did have some rejects that absolutely will not work in the mix no matter how hard I try.  Maybe I'll stitch them together and they can go on the back of the quilt.

I took a picture of one of our Dogwoods trees.  I'll take another picture of the same tree tomorrow to compare the difference a day can make.  We still have quite a few leaves on the trees, and the snow we are supposed to receive today and through the night, is going to be hard on them.

I'll work on three more baskets blocks today, and maybe a few more star blocks.  It will be nice and cozy inside the cabin while a cool, breezy storm blows outside. Our firewood is stacked on the porch, the freezer and pantry are full, and I'm ready to quilt......as long as the power stays on!

I hope you all have a cozy day quilting.

Soon,
Lynn

  3. I had forgotten about mattress buttons. I am glad they aren't on modern day mattresses.
The setting you are doing for the blocks is very interesting. I like!
