Another Year in the Record Books

 Hello Everyone,

Remember this quilt.....Once Upon a Vine?  Well this quilt is at the top of my to-do list this week.  It's nice to have some handwork in the evenings, so I arranged my hexie grapes on the background and started stitching.

I also started making more of the basket blocks.  This quilt is still in the infancy stage and it's design as-I-go-through-the-process-by-the-seat-of-my-pants!  I'll get inspiration along the way while I move things around and play with the placement of the blocks.

I can't stop making these little blocks.

I didn't bring lots of fabric with me to the cabin, so I'm using what I have in the closet.

It's fun to combine all different colors.

I'm really liking this one so far.  It is going to be bursting with color.

Remember this gorgeous picture I posted last October?  This was taken at Snowflake Lake, just five cabins down the trail from our place, Wilder's Last Resort.

Look at it now.  It's not very inviting is it?

I don't think I'll brake out the ice skates out just yet!

Have a happy and safe New Year everyone!  Make your 2014 a special year full of family and friends, and quilting of course!

Soon,
Lynn

  4. It looks like you're having a lot of fun at the cabin, Lynn! And here I thought you'd be tromping through the woods with your snowshoes on! Best wishes to you and Mr. Joe for the New Year!
    Cheers!

  5. Hello Lynn, for not taking much fabric with you, you are certainly coming up with some lovely blocks. Those photos of the lake could not be more different, for being the same view. Very interesting.
I'm celebrating my second year Blogging Anniversary with a “Give-A-Way”, so come visit and get your name in the hat :)

  7. Still amazed by the cuteness of those little hexie grapes! Love the Grammie Quilt idea...so great for stash busting! As always those autumn colors are memorable & inspiring...now I question...should that sign really say Danger Thin Ice or Danger Thick Water??????

  8. I really love the mini-hexies with black round them. It makes the colours just jump out. Your bunches of grapes too are so clever. Was 2013 the year of the hexie for you?

    Happy New Year.

  9. A happy new year to you Lynn and love those tiny hexies. The Grammy blocks are coming along a treat and I know what you mean when you say that you are using what is to hand, as my fabric is all packed away at the moment. Only till the end of this month.. Take care.

  10. Wow - love those hexie log cabins at the end of your post. Can you tell me what size the center is, and how wide the strips surrounding is? I'm just finishing up a hexie project of my own and might need to make one like that too!
