My Easter Basket

Hello Everyone,
I stopped writing pattern directions long enough to work on my little basket.  I think three across would make a great table runner for Spring.

If I use it as a table runner, then I will place regular appliqued flowers in the center.  The raised flowers just won't work.  But if I turn the block into a pillow, I'll use the dimensional flowers.

Quite often I'm asked how much fabric I buy.  When I find a wonderful tone on tone, the one I used for the setting triangles, I buy two or three yards.  This is an older fabric called Sweet Romance by Blackbird Designs.  When I bought it, I knew I would use it someday......I just have to remember that I have it, and where I put it.

We enjoyed a wonderful, soaking rain yesterday and throughout the night.  We also had many long, rolling claps of thunder across the mountains which is always a treat.  The thunder didn't bother Mazey at all.  When the thunder started in, I thought I was going to have a Golden Retriever lap dog, but she was fine.

More pattern writing for me today in addition to putzing around the cabin. As I sit at the dining room table and look around, all I see are cobwebs.  Is it too early in the year to pass them off as Halloween decorations?

P.S.  One of my students from my Patchwork Math class posted about her experience HERE.  Diane was very creative and had fun arranging her components in interesting and different combinations.  You are a good student Diane.  Thank you so much for the "shout out".  ~~Lynn

  1. I love how this turned out. So pretty!

  2. It's so fun to see the difference in personality a change in fabric and flowers give to this pattern.
I love the double flower - a new generation of flowers is born!

  3. I like your basket using dresden wedges - a pretty block. We have two corgis; one hates thunder and hides under furniture, the other is pretty much oblivious to it.

  4. I used the last of my Sweet Romance stash a while back - it's so nice to see you love it as well, Lynn! I am squealing with delight over the flange, too! How wonderful that Mazey could listen to the thunder with you and Mr. Joe....I'm sure it was a cozy evening at the cabin!

  5. Love your new basket, Lynn! I just may have to do this one. You know how much I love baskets! Regarding your cobweb Halloween "decorations", you can just say they are last years that you forgot to "put away".
