I Have Your Back

Hello Everyone,

I put the extra blocks leftover from Lil' Orphan Scrappy to some good use by incorporating them into the backing.

I had only three yards of the blue fabric so it took some planning to get it to this point.  The light fabric on the sides is a tone-on-tone floral print.  Every scrap of this fabric is Marcus Fabrics.

Now if I can just get this loaded onto the long arm evenly.  That is the question!

Soon,
Lynn

  1. Good luck!! That is always my fear when I put two or more fabrics on for backing! Yours is wonderful...like another whole quilt!!

  2. My quilt backs are almost always scrappy leftovers! I'm not sure if my quilter loves me or not...but she's never scolded me and said "Quit it Out! You're killin' me!" yet! ;-}

  3. It's not easy, but with the help of pins marking things, you can do it I know. By the way, the lesson I've learned is that if I'm inserting a piece on the back, set it offcentre!

  4. I love to piece backs, too - but like Sue, I off-set them so I don't go nuts trying to center them (or make my longarmer nuts).

  5. Great idea, fun on both sides of the quilt.

  10. I always think pieced backings always make a quilt more special. Usually I get so excited to start the quilting I end up using a whole piece but lately I have been putting forth the effort so as to use scraps.
