Hello Everyone,
I was laterally productive this weekend which means I was busy all the time, doing lots of things, but not really concentrating on what needed to be done first.
I managed to get all of the corner triangles sewn on to my Heartfire blocks.
I need to make thirteen more blocks before I can start sewing this one together. I decided on my border fabrics which is the same fabric that I'm using in the center of this square. If I cut the border fabric correctly, I will have nice crosshatching lines to follow in my border when I'm machine quilting.
During THREE football games yesterday, I made grapes, grapes and more grapes. I don't sit in front of the TV all day long. I'm up and about, cooking, straightening the house, printing and stuffing patterns, and grape stomping. I can't just sit and watch TV without doing something productive. If I just sit, there's also the hazard that I will doze off, (I don't want to drool on my grapes) so I keep myself occupied when the tube is on.
I also made a couple more baskets for Once Upon a Vine.
I'll start out this week with my to-do list handy and work my way through it. The problem is I keep adding to it throughout the day. Sometimes I will write something on my list that I've already completed, just to have the satisfaction of checking something off.
I'm headed to the shop this morning for work. I always look forward to seeing the new fabrics that arrived over the past week. In Between Stitches is just full of quilty goodness. Tomorrow I'll be teaching part two of Patchwork Math. I'm anxious to see what the girls have been working on since our last meeting.
So get out those lists, check them twice, and let's all enjoy our day and be creative.
Soon,
Lynn
Just beautiful projects and fabrics combo!

ReplyDeleteI have to crack up at you adding items to your list that you've already done, just so you can check them off. I think we all do that - I know I do! lol! Sounds like you had a very productive day. btw I'm loving those baskets ~

Your grapes look good enough to eat! Heartfire looking good and the basket is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteLoving your Heartfire quilt and the hexie grapes. I too can't just sit and watch TV except just lately after about 10pm when I'm really tired. I'm like you and treat it more as background noise. Take care and is your weather cooling at all?
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I am going to get brave enough to try my hand at hexies. You are my inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteYour Heartfire is looking wonderful. I'm tempted to add some triangles to mine now, just so I can see what it's going to look like. I just hope I chose the right background fabric!
ReplyDeleteGood to see other people do that thing with lists too. I thought it was just me!
Hee..I have this vision of you in a red wig stomping grapes in the woods at the cabin!!! I'm glad you're doing the kind that doesn't turn your feet purple, Lynn!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
