Country Charmer Update

Hello Everyone,

Just time for a quick post this morning to share my Country Charmer update.  I finished one more block for a total of 10 blocks completed.  As always, I try to start with an interesting center and work out from there drawing the colors with me.

I decided on my sashing and nine-patch fabrics.  I think the darker beige highlights the blocks so they can each stand alone and have their own voice, yet they really sing when they're together.

If you are interested in joining in the Country Charmer Quiltalong, go HERE to Lesley The Cuddle Quilters blogsite for the details.  This is a low key no stress quiltalong.  Just work on it when you can and show your progress the first day of the month.  I check in a little more often with some tips and fabric ideas.  I have a section at the top of my blog with construction and color pointers to help you along.

Busy day today that includes machine quilting in the morning and sugar cookie making with my twin granddaughters after school.  My Grandmother always made heart-shaped sugar cookies for Valentine's Day so I'm carrying the tradition forward.  The twins made the cookie dough yesterday so today they are going to frost and decorate.  Then we have a T-ball practice to attend.  Our eldest son is coaching his son's T-ball team.  He said the first practice went well considering he had nine, 5 & 6 year olds swinging bats right at a dangerous level.....if you catch my drift.  He said there were only a few tears and no blood which made for a successful practice.....and the tears didn't come from our son!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.  I very much appreciate you and your support over the past few years.  If I could, I would give everyone of you a heart-shaped cookie!

Soon,
Lynn

  5. Love this block and the sashing makes it wonderful! I bought 22 more 1/2 yard pieces so I can make my quilt a little bigger. Hope you enjoyed your grandkids.

  6. I love all the fabrics you used for this one. It's amazing how a quilt changes so much depending on the color way and fabric choices. They are all wonderful in their own way.
