Hello Everyone,
I have to get back into the sewing room and make more Grammy Squares to go with these cute little hexie flowers.
My bright idea is adding a hexie flower border.......which adds months of time to this quilt. It is all just pinned up on the design wall for now. I see a vine in my future too.
I'm short of my goal.
How about three blocks a week?
I tried.
Soon,
Lynn
Hey, it's about the process, right?
ReplyDeleteI am so loving this!
It is a labor of love so enjoy the journey ! Love the hexie border you are adding !
ReplyDeleteI sympathize Lynn. Im piecing diamonds for a star blanket and no matter how I try, Im making one star every 2-3 days. But the Grammy will be a beauty!
ReplyDeleteEveryone has to have one of those "lifetime" quilt, Lynn ;>) I definitely agree a vine is in order! It will be a treasure when you finish!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
It's going to be just beautiful when it's finished, and really, is there any need to rush it? Make this the quilt you go to when you just want to do something for you, no pressure, no deadlines, etc.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like the feeling of satisfaction you get when you finish a quilt. Unfortunately, sometimes we are so focused on finishing that we forget to enjoy how we got there! Just enjoy every step and don't worry about the finish.....it will happen!! Please keep sharing your journey too!! Happy piecing....
ReplyDeletePlans, right! My 'plans' never seem to work out. I have had to relax my plans and work at things as I can. I do not want to lose the joy of creating in my desire to finish a project. I sure like your Grammy squares and I think the hexie flowers on the border are a perfect addition. Yes, I can see a vine there!
ReplyDeleteI was reminded of Grandmas wool afghan that laid across the back of her couch back when I saw this. Now, my other Grandmother and her Flower Garden quilts are included!
ReplyDeleteSue is totally right! You need to have a "No Pressure" project, Heaven knows you have more than enough deadlines!
