Hello Everyone,
I have some more exciting news! I'm having a quilting retreat at Snowflake Lodge at Blue Lake Springs in Arnold, California on October 28th, 29th & 30th, 2014.
The Lodge and recreation area is all part of my Homeowner's Association, and it is within easy walking distance to our cabin.
We will each have plenty of quilting space in this nice, big room full of windows overlooking the pool area. The room also has a fireplace for ambiance during the crisp, fall days.
If we have rain, that's even better since we are in a severe drought.
We will have all of our meals in this area which overlooks the lake. So no worries about food by your quilting station.
Here are pictures of the lake and lodge that I took last October. As you can see, the fall foliage was beautiful. You can always stop quilting long enough and take a leisurely stroll around the lake.
This is my "On Golden Pond".
Here are the particulars. The cost of the retreat is $175.00 which includes three lunches, two dinners and snacks. I will be teaching Patchwork Math during the retreat, or you can work on any project of your choice. I will provide one-on-one help throughout the entire retreat. The motel arrangements will be made by you. I've contacted one of the local motels and negotiated a room rate of $89.00 per night for two quilters. Or, I can direct you to a real estate office that specializes in cabin rentals. If you are interested in attending the retreat, please email me at patched55@comcast.net and I will send you a letter of agreement.
If husbands are interested in tagging along, there's golfing, fishing, hiking and restaurants in the immediate area. Arnold is located about 2 hours from Yosemite which makes for a nice day trip. There is RV parking at Golden Pines and at Calaveras Big Trees State Park (30ft and under). These areas are less than 5 miles from Snowflake Lodge.
I will dust off my logs, and everyone is invited to come and tour our cabin....there may also be some appetizers involved!
Wilder's Last Resort |
Last year I moved out all of the furniture and had the retreat in the great room at the cabin. This year, I decided to make the retreat available to more people, and the cabin just isn't big enough to hold 20 quilters. I also think all of the power cords would blow a fuse!
Contact me soon if you are interested in three wonderful days of quilting in the mountains. I know I'm looking forward to it!
Soon,
Lynn
What a great time you will have! Looks like a little bit of heaven!
ReplyDeleteWonderful venue for a large group, but I still think your cabin is just gorgeous for a more intimate gathering. Take care and hope it goes well.
ReplyDeleteHow can this not be a wonderful retreat in such a gorgeous area and with a lovely leader?
ReplyDeleteWow, Lynn, that all just sounds so wonderful, I wish I could be there! Such lovely photos. I am hoping to visit America next year, and a visit to Yosemite is definitely on my list. Your cabin looks gorgeous.
