Let's talk across the picket fence

Hello Everyone,

I've been spending all of my time working on this cute little picket fence block for Party in the Garden.  I'll spend my evenings stitching all of the pieces down.  I should work on this during the day when the light is better, but I like to sit back, put my feet up, and just stitch away in the evenings.  If I'm doing something while watching TV, I don't feel like I'm wasting so much of my time.

My cousin Melody, and my sister Gail are here with us at the cabin.  Melody starts radiation next week, so this was the perfect time for a getaway for all of us.  We've worked on a puzzle, walked around the neighborhood,  played Rummikub, relaxed, laughed, and last night cheered our way through American Idol.

Melody, Lynn and Gail (1958) standing in front of our Grandparent's 1957 Mercury.
You know what they say about laughter being the best medicine......we are all taking in healthy doses.  The three of us have grown up together, and we are growing old together.

We have so many things to celebrate.  Two years ago today, the whole family was in Hawaii sharing the joyful marriage of our son Kade, to his beautiful bride Athena. We love Athena like a daughter and feel so fortunate  she is part of the family.

It doesn't get much more romantic than this setting.

Enjoy your weekend everyone,  laugh, love and celebrate life.

As always,

  1. I love the little fence and flowers...exquisite. Looks like the perfect wedding too. Hugs

  2. Beautiful block, beautiful bride, and what lovely smiles on the faces of the 3 of you - looked like you were all giggling about something.

I wish Melody all the best with her treatment.

  3. I've always loved picket fences - yours is adorable, Lynn! The 3 of you in that picture sure brings back memories - I think we had the exact same car (or maybe a '56)! How great that you're still all together and enjoying life! Beautiful wedding photos - what a time to remember!
