River City Quilt Guild Workshop

Hello Everyone,

I'm still getting caught up with posts from my events over the past two weeks.  On September 19th and 20th I was at the River City Quilt Guild in Sacramento.

Here is a sample of what the quilters created during the Patchwork Math workshop.

Their blocks looks great together in a collage.  We have a quilt!

Nondra was a great sport and let me take a picture of her hair next to her block.  Doesn't this look great!  She is new to quilting and selected fabrics that resembled water....and they did.

Korey made the smallest flying geese and double flying geese ever made in one of my classes.  He got extra credit in class for these cuties!

This is an example of what can be created with a Y-square.  It is so versatile.

The night before the workshop, I gave a mini Patchwork Math workshop to the entire guild!  No pressure here.....none whatsoever!  The facility and crowd was a bit daunting.  They chuckled in all the right places and were very generous with their applause.

I'm still playing catch up with my posts.  More to come over the next few days.  Have you noticed that I have not had time to quilt?  Nothing....nada. I'm missing my sewing machine terribly.

Soon,
Lynn

Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat Day #2

Hello Everyone,

Day #2 of the Sew'n Wild Oaks retreat ended with a lot of creativity by the end of the day.

Some of us stopped working and took a walk around the lake after lunch.  It was a beautiful day with a crystal blue sky.

The girls work, chat, and laugh at their workstations.

Joy's beautiful block!

Cindy's pile of scrappy leaves grows every time I walk by her table.

 Lisa's sweet applique.

I have a feeling that Mary's beautiful blue quilt is going to be all sewn together today.

Patty is going to have her Walk in the Park completed soon.

Joanne's quilt is growing too.
 Peggy's Country Charmer block.

Jeanne is adding to her little basket collection.

Isn't this a cute quilt for the Holidays!

Martha's umbrellas are just so precious.

Yesterday was table topper day.  Many of the girls stopped what they were working on and made a hexagon table topper.

'Nuff said.

Lynn

Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat Day 1

Hello Everyone,

The retreaters have arrived all safe and sound to Snowflake Lodge for my retreat.  Jeanne graciously presented everyone with a special bag to hold their goodies.

Our quilting area looked like this when the day began.

Then the girls filled the space with the first show and tell of the week.  Kristi and Helen just took Edita Sitar's class at Quilting in the Garden.  This is what they competed in class.

Kristi is now ready to add the borders to Journey's End.

Mary finished her Heritage and it is ready to be entered into the Independence Hall Quilt Show next month.

Here's another gorgeous quilt made by Mary.

Joy picked up three quilts from her quilter on the way up to the retreat.  This is her quilt for Project Linus.

Here's another beauty designed by Joy!

....and another.  A quilt along from Temecula Quilt Company.

Joanne's appliqued quilt is simply amazing.  Just one more border and she's one!

Lisa's quilt is also over the top gorgeous!

By the end of today, Patty will have all of her Walk In The Park blocks sewn together.

Some of the girls took their first walk around the lake.

There is a hint of color in one of the trees.

Dinner was served around 5:30.  It was delicious.

After dinner, we headed to my cabin for dessert.

The talent in the room is beyond brilliant!  The friendships are forming, the bonding has begun.  Stay tuned for more from these women.  And remember, what happens at the retreat, stays at the retreat.
