October Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat

 Hello Everyone,

Girls just want to have fun at the Sew'n Wild Oaks retreat kick-off dinner at my cabin.

The girls started trickling into town and found their way to Snowflake Lodge to get set up for the retreat.

Some started in sewing right away before heading off to dinner.

I have several new attendees as indicated by the raised hands.  The new recruits blended in perfectly with the previous retreaters.

We had a wonderful day on Monday with class in the morning and one in the afternoon. Quite a few of us walked around Snowflake Lake during a fabulous Autumn day in the mountains.

New friendships are blossoming.

I'm off this morning for another fun day at the retreat.

Lynn

The Winemaker's Choice

Hello Everyone,

I was absolutely thrilled yesterday when I found out my quilt, 'A Ribbon Runs Through It', was selected as the Winemaker's Choice at the Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire at Ironstone Winery!

I feel so honored to have won this award as there were so many beautiful quilts at the show made by the Independence Hall Quilters Guild.

I spent my day yesterday talking to the quilters at my demo in the vendor room.  There were so many familiar faces, a lot of hugs, and it was a pleasure meeting many of you that I've not met before.  You quilters are just delightful!  I love meeting you and chatting about quilts and life in general.  So many of you shared that you followed my travelogue as Gail, and I drove to North Dakota and back. I was happy to take you all along for the ride....and what a ride we had!

My quilty friends and Mr. Joe came by the booth to help me pack up at the end of the day and head back to the cabin.

Today is another very special day as thirty-five quilters are coming to the mountains to attend my 4th and last Sew'n Wild Oaks retreat for the year.

I still have enough gas in my tank to get me through the week.  The laughter and the joy of being with the girls will energize my battery and fill my tank to overflowing.

Soon,
Lynn

P.S. I have more A Ribbon Runs Through It patterns on order and I'll list them in my Etsy as soon as they arrive from my printer.

Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire Part 2

 Hello Everyone,

Here are just a few of the quilts on display at the Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire at Ironstone Vineyards.

These quilts are very special.  The quilt on the left was made by the grandmother of the woman who made the quilt on the right.

This is a fabulous version of my Leaf Peepers. quilt.  I love it!

What a lucky person I am!  I get to sit and talk about quilting with wonderful quilters all day long. So many of you came by to say hello.  I really appreciate the time you took to stop by.  It means so much to me.

I'm off for a repeat performance today.

Lynn

Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire

 Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post before I have to dash off.  I just got my lecture area set up for the Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire at Ironstone Winery in Murphys, CA.  I'm presenting Finessing the Figures at 11am and 2pm on Friday and Saturday.

The quilts are hanging in the beautiful music room.

My Country Courthouse quilt design was made by the Independence Hall guild members, and it is the raffle quilt this year.  All of the proceeds will go to graduating seniors at the local high school to continue their education. The seniors have to apply, then go through an interview process to receive funds from the raffle of this quilt.

My A Ribbon Runs Through It is hanging in the show.

I also have my Crossing the Pond quilt in the show.

The grounds at Ironstone are gorgeous this time of the year.

The show is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  I hope you can come by and see me and enjoy strolling through the grounds and looking at quilts.  There is also a large boutique and a vendor area.

Come on by and learn some new quilting tips and tricks to make basic components any size you need.

Soon,
Lynn

Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire

 Hello Everyone,

This Friday and Saturday I will be giving 2 demonstrations at the Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire at the beautiful Ironstone Winery in Murphys, CA. The demonstrations will be at 11am and 2pm Friday the 21st and Saturday the 22nd.

The demonstrations are called "Finessing the Figures". You will learn how to make common quilting components and the math behind the components so you can make them any size you want.

This is a great learning opportunity to learn how to change borders, sashings, or increase or decrease the size of blocks by knowing how to change the size of the components. Have you always wanted to participate in a Round Robin but felt challenged by the math? Fear no more! The demonstrations are FREE with the price of admission.

The winery is beautiful this time of the year.  You can stroll around the grounds and do some wine tasting while you are there.  It is a destination quilt show.

Mr. Joe is headed to Murphys this morning to deliver my two quilts that will be hanging in the show.  He will stay and help with the set-up process.

I'll be busy at the cabin getting ready for my demonstration, and for my Sew'n Wild Oaks final retreat of the year which starts the Sunday.  I must have a one-on-one with my scheduler and tell her to stop filling my schedule with back-to-back-to-back events.

Lynn
