Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat Day 3

 Hello Everyone,

Here is just part of the show and tell from the retreat last night which was inspiring and amazing at the same time.

The amount of creativity in the room was over the top.

This quilt was embroidered by hand.

This is my 'Spoken For' pattern.

This quilt is my 'Party in the Garden' pattern.

Jeannie painted the panels in her quilt.

The mini quilt show was brought to you by these amazingly talented, funny, compassionate, strong, and beautiful women.

This is a picture of the 'Dutch Mafia',

The girls modeled their little Dutch slippers.

Here are the 'Needle Nellies' from Georgetown, CA.

We are so blessed to have this time together to make new friends and hear life stories, sometimes funny and other times full of strength and resilience.  What a group!

Soon,
Lynn

P.S. I will never look at a pair of tube socks and tennis balls without thinking of someone in this room.....and you know who you are!

September Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat Day Two

Hello Everyone,

We had another fun-filled inspiring day at the retreat.  There is beauty everywhere you look.

I taught one class in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Some of us ate our breakfast out on the deck.

Some chose to eat inside.

I love it when someone will ask for help and a spontaneous class happens taught by one of the retreaters.  Quilters helping quilters.

The crystal blue sky and Snowflake Lake beckoned some of us for an afternoon walk around the lake.

It was a glorious day!

We had appetizers and wine on the deck before dinner.

We ended the day with my trunk show.
Until tomorrow.

Lynn

September Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat Day One

 Hello Everyone,

My fabulous set-up crew and I had an excellent start to my Sew'n Wild Oaks retreat yesterday while we lunched on the deck at Snowflake Lodge in Arnold, Ca.

Quilters started to join us as they trickled their way to the retreat from all over California.

They settled in and started right to work.

Once most of them arrived, I welcomed them with my opening remarks and the plans for the next four days of quilting fun.

Here is just a snippet of some of the projects they are working on.

Now Cindy has the right idea!  She brought her rocking chair as she plans on doing handwork over the next few days.

At 6pm, the quilters came to my cabin with appetizers and desserts in hand for our first dinner together.

There were food stations around the great room.  I really need to put a cookbook together of our feast.

It was a lovely Fall evening to dine on the deck and get to meet each other and make new friends.

The saddle bar stools really got a workout last night!

I can tell this is going to be a FUN group.  You know, girls just wanna have fun!

We will meet up this morning at 8am to begin the teaching, quilting, eating, and fellowship combined with ripples of laughter throughout the room and walks around Snowflake Lake.

I wish you could join us. You will be there is spirit as I document the retreat over the next few days.  It is such a special time of togetherness with those who share the same quilting passion.

Soon,
Lynn
