Hello Everyone,
My October retreats have been unpredictable when it comes to the weather. This year is going to be historic, with a record breaking storm arriving the first day of the retreat. This is a great image of the atmospheric river heading right toward California.
I learned that atmospheric rivers are categorized, just like hurricanes on a level of 1 - 5, with 5 being the highest. We are expecting a category 5 on Sunday into Monday. We could receive 7" of rain in a day.
We go from no rain for months on end, to a firehouse effect aiming right at us. You know the phrase, when it rains, it pours.
I'll try to post over the next few days when I can. Changes are good we will be without power and Internet access will be at a minimum.
I know "my girls", and their spirits will not be dampened as we gather together for the first time in 2 years. My girls are arriving from Tennessee, Michigan, Nevada, Washington, and all locations up and down California. Safe travels to you all.
Soon,
Lynn
Oh, do be safe! I have been watching this storm from Ohio as our son lives in southern Oregon, also in the path of some of this weather system. Hope you all can weather the storm!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jayne. I will feel better when everyone gets to town safely. Then we can hunker down and enjoy the arrival of the rain together.
DeleteStay safe and have fun, even if the power goes out! I'm sure the fireplace will be in use with everyone gathered around for story and friendship time. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeanne. I wish you could join in with your friends.
DeleteMe again! I linked you in my blog today! Just thought you’d be interested to know your Patchwork Math is working for me! ☺️🥰
