Ninty-Six Baskets

Hello Everyone,

Here's my pile of 96 little baskets soon to be stitched together into a beautiful quilt.

I'm still contemplating the layout.  I could do this, and quilt it with a pantograph.  I've quilted one pantograph in my whole life.  But then if I use black setting squares, what color thread would I use?

Or I could do this and do some elaborate quilting in the setting squares.

I may decide on something completely different.....who knows?  I know I don't know yet.

I'm headed in to the shop this morning. I filled in at the shop yesterday and it was a great deal of fun meeting a blog follower. Have a wonderful day sewing everyone.  I won't be able to touch my machine until Wednesday.......oh dear!

Soon,
Lynn

  5. Seems like you just started those baskets, Lynn, and look how they've multiplied already! I am waiting with baited breath to see how you set and quilt them - I agree - if you use a pantograph, you need to pick one color and with black setting blocks that isn't easy! I'm sure you'll come up with something spectacular! How fun to meet another blog friend! We may have to have a blog friends retreat someday!
    Cheers!

  7. Those baskets are just adorable!! I love them against the black---but I love the second grouping---with the black. :D

  9. I LOVE th e second option. Not sure why - it just sings to me. If you decide on the first option, quilt it with a medium neutral. My favorite Signature color is "Mother Goose". I use that one a lot. Blends in with the black but also with the blogs.

But I'd rather see you do magnificent quilting on the setting blocks in version 2.

  10. I love them, they look so square and have perfect piecing!!! I received my Butterscotch Basket pattern and corner trimmer today, thank you, and I bought a fat quarter bundle of Aunt Grace by Judie Rothermel just for your pattern. I will need solids but I will wait and get back to Country Charmer. Thank you Lynn for your creativeness and help to make quilting fun.

  11. I love the first option but with delicate custom quilting in the black squares.....maybe a light colour cotton to tie in with your baskets? Lots of work there!!
