Hello Everyone,
The quilt show was a great success thanks to my helpers, our friend Yvonne, and my sister Gail. I couldn't have pulled this off without your help and encouragement. You both were invaluable!
Set up was last Friday, and it took four of us, Mr. Joe, our daughter Caren, and Gail to get the booth transferred from our living room to the fairgrounds. (The ladder didn't fall over during the whole show.....amazing!) It was supported by zip ties and bungee cords.
I had pictures of the original layout, but in the end, we flipped the whole booth.....now that threw me for a loop! But it just worked out better and I had more room to display the quilts.
Linda, one of the shop's customers entered her Madrigal quilt in the show.
It was beautiful!
Another customer, Rae, entered her Heartfire quilt in the show. I hadn't seen Rae's quilt before and it looked wonderful in the jewel tones.
I only had time yesterday morning to walk around and snap a few pictures before the doors opened. There were many beautiful quilts, but I just couldn't get around to see them all.
The Quilts of Valor section was full of red, white and blue. USA.....USA! This is just what the doctor ordered after the heart-wrenching events that took place in our country this week.
The Amador Valley Quilt Guild is a fine-tuned machine. They couldn't have been more organized or helpful and made my first vendor experience an absolute pleasure. They were so attentive to our every need. You girls rock! Your quilt show was a great success and I look forward with great anticipation to your next show in two years.
Now to YOU, all of the quilters that stopped by to introduce themselves, give me a hug, shake my hand, and bought my patterns. I was overwhelmed! Many of you drove miles to get to the show from all over the Bay Area and the Sacramento Valley. I appreciate you. Your support means more to me than you will ever know.
What I learned during the last few weeks while preparing for the show, is that you can't do it alone. It takes an enormous amount of support and encouragement from your family, friends, and Melissa and Leslie from In Between Stitches, and YOU, the readers of my blog. You inspire me to design, write blog postings, and share my love of quilting. I love meeting you, I love getting your emails and comments, and I love seeing so many of you that have taken my classes. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to you all. Now it's time to get back to creating and quilting!
Soon,
Lynn
