Cradled in Love

Hello Everyone,

Fall is arriving just as thirty-six quilters roll into town for my 3rd Sew'n Wild Oaks Retreat of the year which begins on Sunday.  These quilts are cradled in love in a very old cradle. I would love to know who slept in this quilt and was rocked to dreamland.

Yesterday I moved some of the quilts around to fit in more with the fall season.  I sorted through an armoire full of quilts and selected the perfect quilts to put on display.

The quilters will be here at the cabin Sunday night for an appetizer dinner.  I always hold this dinner prior to a retreat as an icebreaker, so everyone can get to know each other.  The girls each bring an appetizer or dessert and it is always delicious.

When I designed and made Leaf Peepers, I didn't plan to have such a perfect fit on the headboard on the front porch.

I also made some seasonal pillows a few years ago to put on display.  I love taking them out of the closet every year.  I've mentioned before that the green chairs must be about 70 years old.  I remember them at our house when I was growing up.  One of them is a rocker, and we enjoy sitting out on the covered front porch and watch the animal life stroll by.

We have had some delightful rain over the past couple of days.  I don't mind when it's raining so hard it wakes me up at night.  We've had a good, soaking rain so the entire community is not "on edge" during fire season.  Fingers crossed that we make it to the end of fire season when the real rains arrive.

Soon,
Lynn

  1. Those chairs looking VERY comfy to sit on, just as long as the wildlife continues to walk on by. Bears don't need to hang around. Hahaha! Have a fun, relaxing retreat!

  5. Someone is using your patterns on https://bit.ly/granny-free-pattern or craftideas.site/category/quilt-patterns. I saw country charmer and heritage there. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to privately message you.

    1. Thank you for telling me. This site is a pain in my backside! I’m no longer allowed on their site because I complained too much about their lack of ethics.
