Hello Everyone,
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree - How lovely are thy branches.
Well, this artificial tree is on life support as most of the lights no longer work. I had to add so many additional strings, and now some of them are out. We decided this is the last year for this tree. You'd think since we live in the middle of a forest that we would have a real tree. We haven't had a real tree for years. I guess if I want to smell the pines, I'll just step outside.
The Christmas tree skirt is my Christmas Ribbons pattern. I really love this quilt! It is so bright, cheerful and traditional.
Our dining room is in a semi-circle and at night the tree reflects off the seven windows. I never tire looking at it. Every afternoon I love to sit in one of the chairs by the tree and read, or snooze......most likely snooze after a busy day.
This year I decorated the tree in black and white ribbons, red polka dot ribbons, and only red or white ornaments. It's fun to change things up a bit and use ornaments I haven't used in quite some time. I still have enough ornaments to decorate several more trees. I really need to do something about that and purge the boxes of ornaments.
Mazey dutifully posed in front of the tree for her annual picture. After her picture, I went into the kitchen to finish making dinner. She is usually in the kitchen while I'm cooking. After about 10 minutes I realized she was missing. I went in search of her, and there she was, still sitting in front of the tree. I don't think she moved a muscle. That's my girl.
Today we will be stuffing more patterns for the block of the month to ship out in the next couple of weeks. Marcus Fabrics gave me a "heads up" for a couple of larger orders that aren't in the system yet. I couldn't have done this huge job without Mr. Joe's help. He stuffs the patterns into plastic envelopes for several hours each day. He also takes all of the orders and stands in line at the post office. He doesn't seem to mind as he loves chatting with the rest of the folks in line. It's a small post office and you always see someone that you know. The people in back of him get a bit irked when he brings the orders in with a hand cart!
Soon,
Lynn
What a good dog! Lynn, your tree is beautiful and I love all the windows. Can't wait to see a few snowflakes outside the panes!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie. I just listened to the weather, and it looks like we are heading into a very stormy period next week. The weather person called the storm a "doozie".
DeleteYour tree in its "nook" is a stunner, Lynn! Please give Mazey a chin scratch for me and stay safe next week!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, we should have a lot of good pictures of snow next week on the other side of the windows. Mazey says thank you!
DeleteYour living room looks so inviting! I'd love to just sit and enjoy the tree and fire and stitch or just rest. Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for commenting. I'm pulling an applique project together so I can sit and sew by the tree.
DeleteYour tree is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jocelyn. Merry Christmas!
DeleteHA! They should have been there earlier.
ReplyDeleteI like your thinking!
DeleteCoucou lynn
Amicalement

DeleteBeautiful tree, and I loved the pic of Mazey: she must have been enjoying looking at the tree as much as you do! :-) Merry Christmas!!! Hugs, H
