Getting Prepared

Hello Everyone,

Busy times here at Sew'n Wild Oaks.  I had the wonderful opportunity to speak at the Piecemakers Quilt Guild of Southern Alameda County Tuesday night.  They were a wonderful, and engaging audience.  I do believe I heard a few belly laughs during the talk which really made my day! Thank you so much for making Gail and me feel so welcome.  I'm looking forward to seeing some of the girls again this weekend for the Patchwork Math Workshop.

There is always a lot to do before and after a lecture or workshop.  I finished up with the accounting from the lecture yesterday, and today I'm preparing for the workshop.

My granddaughter was over the other day, so I have something quilty to show you. She selected fabrics for three more Lil' Orphan Scrappy blocks.

She didn't want any part of using the sewing machine.  She was quite content selecting fabrics, and she did a great job and took it very seriously.  Seriously, she spent about half an hour choosing fabrics for each block.

Next week, my sister Gail are I (aka Thelma & Louise) are headed to Ukiah, to woman for my booth for Quilts in Bloom Quilt Show sponsored by The Grapevine Quilters Guild of Mendocino County.  I have so much to do to get ready for that show.  I really need to have a face-to-face talk with my scheduler.....that would be me!!

Little League game last night, track meet this afternoon......so many fun things to see and do.  Life is busy and full and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Soon,
Lynn

  2. Great job selecting fabric, Emily! Do you think Grammy would "loan" you out when I get ready to start my Lil' Orphan Scrappy quilt? I want to thank the Piecemakers Quilt Guild, also, for making us feel so welcome Tuesday night. You are a great and talented group and we appreciated your support! Hope to see a lot of you again at the workshop on Saturday!

  3. Your granddaughter did a great job picking out the fabrics!! Great color choices!! And I may go to Ukiah next week too. DH will be gone at a pinball show/convention/play all day for two days in a row, so I'll have the day to myself. I'll probably see you soon! :-) Hugs, H

  4. Next time I'm making a quilt, can I borrow your granddaughter to choose fabrics for me? You know what a struggle it is for me, and she really looks to have inherited her grandmother's talent for it.
