Fall has arrived

 Hello Everyone,

Here's another sneak peek at my Monday with Marcus project.  I have to get it finished this week!  The pattern is almost finished and will be available for you as a FREE download on Oct. 16th. I will be offering a limited number of kits for sale for this wall hanging in my Etsy shop.   There certainly is something to be said for making a small wall hanging. Everything takes less time to complete.

Another shipment of my Hearthstone fabric arrived yesterday from Marcus Fabrics.  Our wonderful UPS driver carried it down the hill to the front porch.  He always places a doggy treat on the shipment for Mazey.  One of these days she is going to follow him back to his truck and go for a ride.

We are starting to stockpile wood for the winter, and we've already had our first fire of the season on a rainy Saturday. We burned our way through four cords of wood last winter.  According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, we are going to have another doozy of a winter.  I'll spend my winter designing new fabric and new quilts to keep all of you, and me busy!

After weeks of being sidelined with the venomous bites on my legs by my ankles, I'm finally able to get out and go for short walks and enjoy the fall weather and halfway decent mobility without a great deal of pain.  It feels so good to be outside breathing in the crisp mountain air.  Mazey is so happy to resume our walks and loves it when I get her leash out.  She prances about in happy doggy circles.

We haven't seen any bears lately, but we noticed a pile of what bears do in the woods about 50 feet from our front door.  I carry my airhorn with me when I'm out and about.  Mazey has alerted us many times in the night that something is lurking about.

I love the new placement of the flag at our little lake right down the road from me. It is so patriotic in these dysfunctional times with our government.  Our leaders need to get outside in the woods, breath in the fresh air, and clear their minds so they can think clearly and make better decisions for our country.

I'm healing very s-l-o-w-l-y and it's driving me crazy.  I had to have an ultrasound of my kidneys on Monday.  My nephrologist, doctor #8 for me, was afraid the venom had damaged my kidneys as she was not happy with some of the results from a complete lab workup.  That was another worry that has always been lingering in the back of my mind.  That worry has now been erased and my kidneys passed the test, and they are functioning just fine!

I have a full to do list today, so I'm going to say goodbye for now and get to work!

Soon,
Lynn

  4. I agree about our government also. But just think what might be if EVERYONE, especially all women got out and voted! Could we turn this around or at least send a message that we are not happy with the way things are going? I think we need some new young blood in government; at least people who are under retirement age.

    1. I agree, there needs to be term limits. If quilters ran the country, we'd be much better off!
