Grammy Squares Class Was In Session

Hello Everyone,

This mornings mini quilt block show is brought to you by some very talented quilters in Turlock at Cloth and Quilts who took my Granny Squares class last Saturday.

Linda had a good head start on her blocks.  She paper pieced them to make them "spot on".  Well done!

This block looks so delicate and lacy.

Peggy was going for a less scrappy look, and chained pieced.

She sent me this picture of her blocks the next day!  This method gave her a more controlled, and less scrappy version.  Brilliant!

The Kansas Troubles fabric is going to work up beautifully in the blocks.  All blocks will have the same center and the final row is going to be the blue.  Love it!

Love the use of the black floral stripe.

I love how the diagonal stripe on the last round makes this block look like it is spinning.

Susan began with this beautiful selection of color.

Her quilt is going to have an Amish look to it.  So different and so attractive.

It all begins with interesting centers.

It is fun to see how the blocks got their beginning.

There were strips all over the classroom.

Susan brought in her Country Charmer quilt to show me. She is going to have applique in her border.  I can't wait to see it!

The girls did a fabulous job on their blocks.  It was so much fun for me to spend the day with you.

I'm off to In Between Stitches this morning to see my Sew'n Wild Oaks girls.  The rest of the week I'll be preparing everything for my booth at the Springtime in the Pines quilt show in Grass Valley this weekend. I hope I will see some of you there.

Soon,
Lynn

  2. I like Susan's Country Charmer and my favorite Grammy Squares is from the Kansas Troubles fabric. I want to make both of these quilts later this summer. Can one believe that May is within 3 days?
